Fault symptom:
After a computer with an AMD video card is started into Win7, the problem "amd quick stream has stopped working" occurs, as shown in the figure:
Cause analysis:
First, we need to understand what AMD Quick stream technology is. It is a technology that ensures smooth video playback by giving priority to media-related Internet traffic. That is to say, when we watch videos online and download things, computers that support AMD Quick stream technology can detect that you are watching videos, then, we intelligently allocate limited bandwidth to online video playback to avoid video playback smoothness due to excessive traffic usage during downloads. It is more common, similar to the pre-buffer processing of PPS.
The above error is caused by program problems or incompatibility with the system.
Solution:
There are two common solutions:
1. Change the driver
Amd quick stream is generally installed with the graphics card driver. In this case, you can uninstall the problematic driver and reinstall the corresponding video card driver. If you are not sure whether the driver is normal, you can test multiple versions until they are normal.
2. Disable amd quick stream at startup
Amd quick stream does not have any impact on system operations, so it cannot be started. Follow these steps: press WIN + R in the system and enter 'msconfig' in the 'run' dialog box'
Select the 'start' item, find the amd quick stream startup item (AMD text), remove the previous check, and confirm the restart to solve the problem.
If the AMD-related startup item is not found in the startup item, you can disable it in the registry. The procedure is as follows: press WIN + R and enter 'regedit '. After confirmation, find the following items in the opened registry,
'Hklm \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432node \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ run', delete the AMD project, and restart.
Tip: It is risky to modify the registry. Back up data in advance and operate it with caution under the guidance of a professional.
