When Windows 2000 converter migration, it prompts you for a scsiport.sys solution

When using convert to P2V migration to Windows2000, you may receive a prompt indicating that the Scsiport.sys version on the source system must be upgraded. Convert request upgrade version is 5.0.2195.7017, however, even with this version of the file, convert may also prompt you to encounter problems or cannot continue. Similarly, if you provide an older version (for example: 5.0.2195.6713) or a later version (for example: 5.0.2195.7059), convert may also indicate that these versions are causing problems and you will not be able to convert the source system.

To continue the transformation work in this step, we found that the Scsiport.sys file for the Windows XP Professional SP2 Workstation (version 5.1.2600.2180) was converted and accepted, and this file is available from c:\windows\system32\ Drivers.

In any case, after the conversion is complete, it is recommended that you replace the Scsiport.sys with the version in the SP4 patch package, and the version in the patch package is 5.0.2195.7059.

Replace the file step:

1, if you do not have this file, you can go to the official website download KB891861 patch package, the extract can be obtained.

2, to a new virtual machine to add an existing disk, this disk is just converted to virtual machine Win2000 hard disk (virtual disk).

3. Open this new virtual machine and find the%Windir%\System32\Drivers directory on the mounted disk and copy the new Scsiport.sys file.

4, turn off the virtual machine to remove the Win2000 just mounted on the hard drive, and open the original that was converted Win2000.

My situation is that when the conversion goes wrong, I will be a 2003 machine on the Scsiport.sys file copy to use, convert this step through, and successfully migrated to the virtual machine, but the virtual machine boot blue screen, I think may be replaced by the Scsiport.sys file version of the problem early into the system blue screen.

Later I follow the address in the above post, download the KB891861 patch package to extract it, the inside of the Scsiport.sys file extracted, and then use the PE boot disk to start the conversion of the Win2000 virtual machine, after the start into the c:\winnt\system32\ Drivers directory, will just extract the Scsiport.sys file into the directory and replace the original file, restart after all normal.
