A keyboard shortcut is a combination of two or more keys that you can use to perform tasks that typically require a mouse or other pointing device to perform. Keyboard shortcuts make it easier for you to interact with your computer, saving you time and effort when using Windows and other applications.

Most applications also provide accelerator keys to make it easier for you to use menus and other commands. Check to see if there is an accelerator key in the Application menu. If a letter of a word in a menu is underlined, it usually means that you can press the ALT key and the underlined key at the same time, which is equivalent to clicking the menu item. If you are using a touch pad, you can also see shortcuts when you press the CTRL key.
