Why can't I install Windows XP in DOS mode

Q: Why do I run the Setup command in DOS mode when I install Windows XP, the system prompts me not to install it in this mode, but I remember it should be installed?

A. Installing Windows XP in DOS mode cannot use the Setup command, but you should use the CD I386 command to go to the I386 subfolder of the system installation CD and then type the Winnt.exe command and press ENTER to run Setup.

It is important to note that sometimes after this operation the system prompts you not to load the SMARTDRV and interrupts the installation, you can run the Smartdrv.exe file in the DOS system before doing the above.
