Today, with the development of the Internet in full swing, many users and even individual users have their own servers. To ensure the security of data stored on the server, network administrators regularly back up important information on the server, in this way, important information cannot be restored in time when the server encounters unexpected paralysis or the target data is damaged by viruses. When backing up the data on the server, many people will use the built-in backup tools on the Windows server to directly back up the data, some may also choose professional backup tools to back up important data on the server. No, the author automatically backs up important data on the server through the built-in "Task Plan" function of the Windows server system. However, improper backup operations often cause the server to fail to back up the target data. This is not because I recently modified the password for logging on to the server, the server cannot be automatically backed up.
I installed Windows 2003 Server on my server.Operating SystemTo ensure the security of important information, I log on to the system with the super Administrator Account administrator, and then create a new task scheduler databackup through the "Task Scheduler" function under the system tool, to enable the server system to automatically back up all the files under the data folder of drive d at every night. After creating a task plan, I will check the system running logs frequently in the next few days and find that the server can perform backup operations normally. Later, considering the security, I often modify the password of the Super administrator account. However, once the password is changed, I found that the task plan databackup cannot be automatically executed; unless you modify the password of the Super administrator account, you can also modify the attribute of the task plan databackup so that the Administrator account password in the running mode also changes, in order to ensure that the task plan databackup is executed normally.
Considering that changing the password of the Administrator account often happens, it is easy to forget to modify the attribute operation of the databackup task plan together. In view of this, I plan to create a new account name beifen, at the same time, the account name is affiliated to the Backup Operators Group of the server system, and a high-security password is created for the beifen account. Next, I open the system task scheduler List window, right-click the task scheduler databackup icon, and run the "attribute" command from the context menu, click the "task" tab in the pop-up property window to open the tab page shown in 1. On the "running mode" Page, change the Administrator account to the beifen account, and then click "set password" to change the password of the Administrator account to the beifen account, finally, click "OK" to automatically run the task plan databackup with the beifen account, in the future, when I change the password of the Administrator account again, I do not need to modify the attribute of the task plan databackup at the same time. However, I was surprised that, since I changed my identity for running the task plan databackup, I found from the server system running log that the backup operation was not automatically executed. What is the problem?
Figure 1 databackup attributes
I first suspect that the system's task plan may not be executed on time, the possible cause is that the attribute settings of the databackup task plan are incorrect or the system's Task Scheduler Service is not started properly due to unexpected reasons. In order to verify your guesses, I first click "start"/"run" command, and in the displayed dialog box, enter the string command "services. MSC, click OK to open the system service list interface. Find the system service task scheduler option in this interface, and then double-click it with the left mouse click, open the attribute settings window of the Service. On the "General" tab page (2) of the window, I found that the start type of the Task Scheduler Service has been set to "automatic ", the service status is also displayed as "started", indicating that the above fault has nothing to do with the Task Scheduler Service. Next, I opened the system's task scheduler List window, right-click the databackup Task Scheduler, and click the "properties" option from the shortcut menu that appears, go to the databackup attribute Setting Dialog Box. In the "running mode" of the dialog box, the author confirms that the running account is indeed beifen (it is worth noting that, the account name must appear in the format of "Server \ beifen", where "server" is the computer name of the server). To prevent incorrect password input for the account, I click the "set password" button, enter the password again in the password setting window that appears later, and click "OK" to close the password setting window. Next, in the System Task Scheduler List window, right-click the databackup task scheduler and click the "run" option from the shortcut menu that appears, if the "status" column in Figure 3 shows "failed to start", it indicates that the attribute settings of the databackup task plan are still incorrect and you need to reset the settings; if you click the "run" option and the "failed to start" text is not displayed in the "status" column on the figure 3 interface, it means that the databackup task has been started successfully, as shown in figure 4. However, after removing the cause of incorrect databackup task plan settings, I found that the system backup operation still cannot be performed normally.

Since the task plan can be started normally, the only possibility is that the backup operation itself has a problem. After careful check and analysis, I found that the Windows 2003 Server operating system will save the relevant backup information in the Personal Configuration folder of the corresponding account. For example, if I log on to the server with the Administrator account, the related backup information will be automatically stored in "X: \ Documents and Settings \ Administrator \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ ntbackup \ data "folder (X is the disk partition where the Windows system is installed ); in the "data" folder window, I see the backup. BKF backup file and backup01.log, backup02.log, backup03.log ...... After opening one of the log files, we can easily see that the backup operation has been completed on the Content Page shown in Figure 5, however, these log files are created before the author modifies the databackup attribute of the task plan, and the backup log files after the modified attribute of the databackup attribute of the task plan must contain "X: \ Documents and Settings \ beifen \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ ntbackup \ data "folder, but when entering the folder window, I did not find the backup file backup. BKF, but only backup01.log, backup02.log, backup03.log ...... After opening one of the log files, we found that "Windows NT \ ntbackup \ data \ backup is skipped. BKF 'Folder file, no folder found 'prompt, it is clear that the beifen account is not authorized to access the backup in the Personal Configuration folder of the corresponding Administrator account when performing the backup operation with the beifen account. BKF file, the above error prompt will naturally appear, thus affecting the automatic execution of the backup operation.

After finding the cause of the fault, I believe that to enable the backup operation to still be performed automatically, after the task plan databackup reaches the specified running time, the beifen account has the right to access the backup under the Administrator's Personal Configuration folder. to do this, you can use the following method to operate the BKF file:
The first method is to enter the "X: \ Documents and Settings \ Administrator \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ ntbackup" folder window, right-click the "data" sub-folder icon in the window, execute the "share and security" command from the pop-up menu, and click the "share" tab on the page, then, select the "share this folder" option on the tab page, and click the "permission" button to open the "data" subfolder permission Setting dialog box, click the "add" button on the Interface shown in Figure 6 to import the beifen account and select the "read" permission for the account, in this way, the beifen account has the right to access the backup under the Personal Configuration folder of administrator. BKF file.

The second method is to enter the "X: \ Documents and Settings \ Administrator \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ ntbackup \ data" folder window, and then replace the backup. copy and paste the BKF file to "X: \ Documents and Settings \ beifen \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ ntbackup \ Snapshot Backup ".ProgramThe backup. BKF file under the beifen Personal Configuration folder is automatically accessed.
