Why does the software test end?

Recently, I was involved in a quality planning activity for a software project. When I asked the test Manager how the testing activity ended, I blurted out: "When the development team has a new version ".

To be honest, I didn't have a dedicated tester, but I just spent two weeks in the test team when I first joined the job. But when I heard this, there was a sense of fear. Is "time" the reason for the end of our testing activities?

As mentioned earlier, the software test case design should be 0, 1, and 2:

1: Normal Test Cases

0: exception case to "left"

2: "right" exception case

To tell the truth, I agree with Lao Chen's statement that "time is the end sign of software testing" is really sad.
