Why Windows 7 rejects the wireless router

The author recently installed Windows 7 for the computer, but found that it could not log on to any Web page with IE. Look at the connection status of the wireless router and find that the signal is strong but it cannot connect successfully. The WPA wireless password you set is changed, so you reset it and still cannot connect successfully. The wireless encryption is then canceled, but the result is still unable to connect.

Has the wireless router failed? The author uses the network cable to connect the wireless router and the computer, but discovers the computer to be able to surf normally. Obviously, there is no problem with the Internet connection of the wireless router.

Does the wireless router malfunction? The author tries to connect to the wireless network in the Windows Vista system and finds that the wireless connection is very smooth. There is no way, the author had to find the same installed Windows 7 friends, with his computer wireless connection to the author's wireless router, but found that there is also an inability to connect the problem. Therefore, the author determines that the wireless router may conflict with the Windows 7 wireless network system. The author has replaced a Huawei 3Com WBR204G wireless router for testing and found that Windows 7 systems are connected to the wireless router and can be on the Internet. It seems that the author of the wireless router is really a problem.

Since the wireless router is not compatible with the Windows 7 wireless network system, does it mean that it must be replaced? In order to save money, the author decided to find the relevant data of the wireless router to further troubleshoot the problem. On the management page of the wireless router, I found that its firmware version was 4.2.0 build 081225, which should have been released in December 2008, rather stale, and Windows 7 was released in October 2009, and it seems likely that the wireless router firmware does not support Windows 7. On the official website of the wireless router, I downloaded the related firmware updated July 30, 2009. After upgrading the firmware, I found that the firmware version of the wireless router has been updated to 4.2.0 build 090730.

Does updating the firmware solve the problem? When the network parameters are set, the author's Windows 7 no longer rejects the wireless router and can finally surf the Internet under Windows 7.

Where the problem lies

In addition to the wireless router has a hardware system, but also has the command of hardware work software system-firmware. Users generally use a simple web model to manage wireless routers, it is likely that the Web page is actually a wireless router software system shell. When the Internet is not available, users can view their working status through the management page of the wireless router when they are set correctly. If the wireless router is working properly but cannot connect to the wireless network under Windows 7, it is likely that the wireless router's software system is incompatible with the Windows 7 wireless connection feature. Many older wireless routers do not take into account the applications under Windows 7 systems when designing the firmware, so Windows 7 rejects the wireless router.

Dr.known:

Microsoft claims that Windows 7 is perfectly compatible with more than 90% of the hardware, in other words, that Windows 7 still has some hardware conflict problems. At present, wireless router settings have been a fool, upgrade firmware is easy, ready to use Windows 7 users the best time to upgrade the firmware of the wireless router.
