I'm going to continue using your family expenses Excel form for my other records. When I type my running mileage in the income field, I get an integer number plus an amount of "¥" symbol. If I want to type, like 2.7, what should I do?
You can modify it by using the Format Cells dialog box. First, right-click on the cell that appears to be abnormal.
I see the menu. Should I click to format cells?
Computer knowledge
Yes, when you click the Format cell, the Format Cell dialog box appears. In the dialog box the number tag, find the Category box, you will notice that the currency has been selected.
That's why the numbers I enter are displayed as amounts.
When you select the general in the Category box, the "¥" symbol disappears.
That's great! Now "¥3" is displayed as "3".
If I want to show the number as a date or a percentage, I can change it through the list of categories, right?
Absolutely right.
How can I display a value with a decimal point, such as "3.0" or "1.5"? The current setting automatically converts numbers to integers.
The Format Cell dialog box allows you to display a decimal point. In the numeric category, do you see the decimal digit setting? If you choose "1", this will display a 1-digit decimal point, such as "3.0".
You can use the up and down arrows to adjust the size of the decimal number or enter a number directly.
"3" is now displayed as "3.0".
So I'm going to apply the same settings to the other cells.
You can adjust multiple cell formats at once. The action is simple. First, find the cell you want to modify, hold down the left mouse button, and drag your mouse to select the range of cells you want to change the format. Then right-click on the selected range, click Format Cells, and select the appropriate format.
My balance sheet is getting closer to the format I want. Thank you!
