Updates are needed when a new version or patch is released, or when new information is found. All patches will be uninstalled at the time of upgrade. Please refer to the relevant release notes to ensure that the issues that the patch can fix are already resolved in the Vnxe new upgrade version.
To upgrade to the latest version of the software:
1. Get updates from EMC Online Support:
A, in Unisphere, click Settings > More configuration > Update Software.
b, in the software tag, click Obtain candidate Version Online. This link will take you to the EMC Online Support website where you can download updates to the local system.
C, save the upgrade to the computer you are running Unisphere.
Important: Do not change the file name .
2, Upload software update (. gpg) file:
A, click Settings > More configuration > Update Software.
b, click on the software tag.
C, click Upload Candidate Version.
D, find the updated file on your local computer and click "Open". The update file is uploaded to the storage system from the Unisphere client you are accessing. At this point, the update file is only saved to the storage system and is not installed.
3. Perform system health Check:
Health checks are a series of checks on the state of your storage system. Performing a system health check helps ensure that there are no potential problems preventing successful updates.
A, click Settings > More configuration > Update Software.
b, click on the software tag.
C, click Perform Health Check. The Health Check dialog box appears.
D, click Run. If the health check fails, you must fix the problem before you update it.
E, after the health check is complete, click "Close".
4, install the update:
A, click the settings-> more configuration-> Update Software.
b, in the Software tab, click Install Candidate Version. Install candidate version will only appear if you have uploaded the updated file to Vnxe. The Software Update dialog box appears.
C, click Install. Vnxe Perform a health check to ensure that it can be updated.
Note: If the health check before the update does not work, you need to resolve the problem before performing the installation.
D, after the Vnxe completes the installation of the update, click "Close".
5, view the application of the patch program:
A, click the settings-> more configuration-> Update Software.
b, click on the software tag.
c, click View applied hot fixes.
The View Hot Fixes dialog box displays a list of patches that have been installed on the system.
Note: If the patch is not installed, the button in the View Hot Fixes dialog box appears dimmed.
