Win R2 Install SQL Server 2008 "performance counter registry hive consistency" failure resolution (2011-02-23 19:37:32)
reproduced
When you install database 2008 on an HP server today, there is always a point in the database installation detection that indicates that the performance counter registry hive consistency failed. Previously installed on other servers have not encountered this problem. began to think that the system is not installed, the back of the re-installed or the same. But the same system disk after installing the system on other servers such as IBM, it is confusing to install the database without this problem. Later on the network found the following solutions. But what is the cause of this problem, I do not understand.
1. Open the Registration form. Start Menu--run--input regedit
2. Back up (for a problem restore): Save the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current version\perflib\0804 Export as 0804.reg.
3, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current version\perflib\009 Export to save as 009.reg.
4. Edit 009.reg with Notepad and change the hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windowsnt\curreversion\perflib\009 line to Hkey_local_ MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current version\perflib\0804, save.
5, and then import the edited 009.reg.
(After the operation is complete: The 0804\009\currentlanguage is exactly the same, and is consistent with the Perflib, last counter value and last Help value.)
6, then you can normally appease the database 2008.
PS: After repeated inspection, found that the cause of the problem is that the operating system is installed after the default locale and the language of the non-Unicode language is not set correctly, the setting for Simplified Chinese is OK.
It is best to change the locale and language settings, or the installation of the rules need to choose, if not selected will lead to common database data rules inconsistent, I hope to help everyone
