Win10 change user name to English

Preface

Recently re-installed a Win10 system, the hands of the boot in the guide set the Chinese user name. After using the Microsoft account to login, Win10 in this Chinese name set up a user's folder, so that a few software installation or use process, save path does not support the Chinese path, thus error, can not be used, such as MDK5 (Keil). To avoid the loss of data and software by re-creating an account, I have found some ways to change the Chinese name to English name, and now the feasible method steps are described below.

first step, rename user name

Right-click "Computer", "Management", "Local Users and Groups", "User", "Chinese User name", "rename"

second step, enable Administrator account

Win10 the Administrator account is disabled by default, we need to enable the Administrator account here, as follows:

• Method One: Administrator mode run "command Prompt", input net user Administrator/active:yes
• Method Two: "Computer", "Management", "Local Users and Groups", "User", right-click "Administrator", "Properties", uncheck "Account Disabled"

step three, switch accounts

• Log off the current account: "Windows+x"-"logout"
• Restart the computer (this step can be resolved with the Administrator account login after the user folder display is occupied and unable to modify the problem)
• Switch to Administrator account login

Fourth Step, rename user folder

Enter the C drive \ User, find the folder named in Chinese user name, rename it to English

Fifth Step, modify the registration form

• Open Windows Registry manager: "Windows+r", "Run", input regedit
• Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList, in the folder corresponding to ProfileList user in the system, The ProfileImagePath value in the folder is the address of each user folder, click to view, find the corresponding ProfileImagePath value of the Chinese name user.
• Modify the ProfileImagePath value to change the address to the folder name in English. Matches the folder name of the C drive.
• Log off again to complete the logon user folder name change.

Summary

• Create WIN10 users must not use Chinese!!!!!!
• Develop the habit of naming computer folders in English!
