Load balancing is composed of multiple servers in a symmetrical way of a server set, each server has the equivalent status, can be provided to the external service alone without the assistance of other servers. Through some load-sharing technology, the externally sent requests are evenly distributed to one of the servers in the symmetric structure, and the server receiving the request responds independently to the customer's request. The balanced load can distribute customer requests to server arrays, which provides quick access to important data and solves a large number of concurrent access service problems. This clustering technology can gain access to the performance of a large host with minimal investment.

The advantages of Network Load Balancing

1. Network Load Balancing allows you to propagate incoming requests to up to 32 servers, where you can use up to 32 servers to share external network request services. Network Load Balancing technology ensures that they can respond quickly even in heavy loads.

2. Network Load Balancing external only need to provide an IP address or domain name.

3. Services are not interrupted if one or more of the servers in the Network Load Balancing are unavailable. Network Load Balancing automatically detects that the server is unavailable and can quickly reassign client traffic to the remaining servers. This protection will help you provide uninterrupted service for your critical business processes. You can increase the number of Network Load Balancing servers based on increased network traffic.

4. Network Load Balancing can be implemented on a regular computer.

In Windows Server 2003, Network Load Balancing applications include Internet Information Services (IIS), ISA Server 2000 firewall and proxy servers, VPN virtual private networks, terminal servers, Windows Media services ( Windows video-on-demand, video broadcast) and other services. At the same time, Network Load Balancing can help improve your server performance and scalability to meet the growing demand for internet-based clients. Network Load Balancing allows clients to access the cluster with a logical Internet name and virtual IP address (also known as a cluster IP address) while preserving the respective names of each server.

Second, the implementation of Windows 2003 Network Load Balancing process

1. Operating Environment:

2. Deployment process:

• Configure the NIC for the three servers to ensure Network Load Balancing is selected, starting with one of the server 2 examples:

• Open Network Load Balancing Manager from Administrative Tools, right-click Network Load Balancing cluster, select New cluster from the menu that appears, and go to the cluster parameters interface.

• Cluster parameter configuration, mainly three places: virtual IP, subnet mask, virtual host name. Virtual IP is the address for the client to access, it will be the client's request, access by the system automatically routed to each server based on network load, reduce the pressure of a single server. Here the virtual IP is: 192.168.0.1; virtual host name: test.domain.com (or other name, but the DNS name entered must match the IP address entered); The subnet mask is consistent with the server, the configuration is complete, and then click Next. If remote control is allowed, check "Allow remote control" and enter a password that can be remotely controlled in remote password and Confirm password.

• Go to "Additional cluster IP address" and click "Next".

• Go to "port rules" and click "Next".

• Enter the IP address of the current server in the host column of the connection interface, and then tap Connect to display the network card and IP address of the connected server in the "interface available for configuring a new cluster" box. Select one of the network adapters for the connected host (binding load Balancing) and click Next.

• Go to "host parameters" setting, click "Finish", the system will automatically start the Network Load Balancing cluster configuration. After a few minutes, the Network Load Balancing cluster configuration completes.

• Enter the Network Load Balancing Manager again to view the host configuration information in the cluster test.domain.com.

• The other two servers can be added to Network Load Balancing by following these steps.
