First let's take a look at the Windows7 boot process common sense: After the computer power on, the first is to start the BIOS program, after the BIOS self-test, find the main boot record on the hard disk mbr,mbr read the DPT (partition table), from which to find the active primary partition, Then read the active primary partition of PBR (partition boot record, also called DBR), PBR re-search the partition within the Boot manager file Bootmgr, after Bootmgr was found, control was handed over to Bootmgr. Bootmgr reads the \BOOT\BCD file (Bcd=bootconfigurationdata, which is the "Boot Configuration Data", which simply says that the BCD file under Windwows7 is equivalent to the boot. ini file under XP). After we start Windows7, Bootmgr will go to the boot disk to find Windows\system32\winload.exe, and then load the Windows7 kernel via winload.exe to start the entire windows7 system.

This process can simply be summed up as:

bios->mbr->dpt->pbr->bootmgr->bcd->winload.exe-> Kernel Loading--the entire windows7 system.

MBR->DPT->PBR->BOOTMGR->BCD This section of the possible fault resolution.

MBR problems, mainly MBR code is rewritten, because the code is rewritten differently, so the error message is also different. For example, we installed the WINDOWS7 system, after the partition format, neither into the Windows7, when the boot will appear error prompt:

The workaround is to rewrite the MBR. For overrides. For rewriting the MBR, we are familiar with using the FDISK/MBR command to rewrite under DOS. FDISK/MBR rewritten MBR is compatible with XP, but it is not so compatible with Windows7. The practice shows that after rewriting the Windows7 MBR with the FDISK/MBR command, the BCD needs to be rebuilt, otherwise the windows7 will not start normally. The reason for this is that the FDISK/MBR command overwrites the hard disk signature in the MBR. General partitioning tools can be overridden by the MBR, such as Diskgenius, which rewrites the MBR with the Windows7 is compatible. You can also rewrite it with the BOOTREC/FIXMBR command. To run the Ootrec.exe tool, you must start Windowsre. To do this, follow these steps:

Insert the Windows7 installation disc, and after you start the computer, press the SHIFT+F10 key after you finish booting the computer and bring up the cmd command prompt. At the cmd command prompt, enter:

Bootrec/fixmbr

Enter. This also rewrites the MBR.

PBR problems, mainly the PBR code is rewritten, because the hard disk pieces are different, so the error message code is rewritten. For example, the active partition of the WINDOWS7 system is written to a PBR that is suitable for XP, so that it will appear when the boot is ntldrismissing

The simple solution is to rewrite PBR with the bootrec/fixboot command:

Insert the Windows7 installation disc and press the SHIFT+F10 key after the boot completes to bring up the cmd command prompt. In the Enter:

Bootrec/fixboot

Enter. This also rebuilds the PBR of the active partition.

There is also a common command to mention, this is bootsect:

Insert the Windows7 installation disc, and from the start, press the SHIFT+F10 key after completion to bring up the cmd command prompt. At the cmd command prompt, enter:

Bootsect/nt60sys/mbr

Enter. This command overwrites the PBR of the active partition and also overwrites the MBR, making MBR and PBR suitable for windows7 and Vista.

The Bootsect.exe program is located in the boot directory of the Windows7 installation CD and can be extracted from the file, and the Bootrec.exe command is less convenient to use. So the bootsect command is applied more broadly.
