First step: Synchronizing a Workgroup

No matter what version of the Windows operating system you are using, the first step is to ensure that the workgroup names of the networked computers are the same.

To view or change the computer's workgroup, computer name, and so on, right-click Computer, and select Properties.

If the relevant information needs to be changed, in the "Computer name, domain, and workgroup Settings" column, click Change Settings;

Click "Change";

After entering the appropriate computer name/workgroup name, press OK;

After this step is complete, restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

Second step: Change related settings for Windows 7

Open the Control Panel network and Internet network and Sharing Center advanced sharing settings;

Enable network discovery, file and printer sharing, public folder sharing; Password-protected sharing section, select Turn off password protection sharing.

Note: Media streaming is best also open, and in the HomeGroup section, it is recommended to select Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections (recommended).

The third step: Shared Object settings

Now, let's move on to the shared object. The most straightforward way to do this is to drag and drop files/folders that need to be shared directly into a public folder.

1, if you need to share some specific Windows 7 folders, right-click this folder, select "Properties";

2, click on the "Sharing" tab, the "Advanced sharing" button;

3, check "Share this folder", click "Apply", "OK" exit.

4. If a folder is set to be shared, all of its subfolders will be set to be shared by default.

In the second step, we've turned off password-protected sharing, so we're going to make some changes to the security permissions for shared folders. Right-click the folder you want to share and select Properties. On the Security page, click Edit.

5, Next, please click the "Add" button.

6. Type Everyone and press "OK" to exit.

7, select "Everyone", in the right to select the column will be given to everyone's appropriate permissions.

Step Fourth: Firewall settings

1, open "Control Panel/System and Security/Windows firewall" Check the firewall settings to ensure that "file and Printer Sharing" is allowed status.

Step Fifth: View shared files

1, turn on "Control Panel" "Network and the Internet" "View network computer and Equipment" "(corresponding computer/equipment name)" can be.

This method does help to share files, but the network security is reduced because the password access feature is turned off
