Some friends in the use of computers, like the use of small tools on the Win7 such as CPU monitoring, memory footprint monitoring and other widgets, in some third-party software can also be seen in general, such as Master Lu, the master of optimization and so on. The collection of these data, we can actually look at the hardware or the program's working condition curve, generally in the test is more common. Through Task Manager we can also look at the CPU, memory resource situation, but the data is still not detailed enough. A lot of friends may not understand. In the Win7 system there is a "Performance Monitor", which can be used in real time to check the way the running program affects the performance of the computer, through the collection of these log data, we can analyze a lot of things.

Next, let me take you to the "Performance Monitor" in the Win7 system.

Click Start-Run (or press Win+r to open the Run dialog box), type "Perfmon", and then enter.

Once you are sure you can go to Performance Monitor, where we see a monitor tool, a collection of data collectors, and a few menus for reporting. As shown in figure:

Let's take a look at some of the features of Performance Monitor:

Windows Performance Monitor uses performance counters, event trace data, and configuration information that can be merged into a data collector set.

Performance counter: A unit of measurement that is a system state or activity condition. They can be included in the operating system or as part of an individual application. Windows Performance Monitor requests the current value of the performance counter at a specified interval.

Event trace data: Collected from trace providers, which are components of the operating system or individual applications that report actions or events. You can merge the output of multiple trace providers into a single trace session.

Configuration information: Collected from Windows registry key values. Windows Performance Monitor can record registry key values as part of a log file at a specified time or interval.

Using Performance Monitor

Performance Monitor is a simple yet powerful visualization tool for viewing performance data in real time and from log files. With it, you can examine the performance data in a chart, histogram, or report.

It should be said that this Win7 performance Monitor is still very powerful, running programs, Resource usage, CPU, memory, disk, network and other data, at a glance, here can also end the program process, so, here seems to be an enhanced task manager. Of course, depending on your requirements, I'm sure you'll have a greater analytical purpose for this performance Monitor in Win7.
