The previous period of time due to work reasons need to install CENTOS7 system, but their notebook performance is not very good, so abandoned the original Win7 system through VMware to run the CentOS system idea (if the computer performance is recommended to use this method, see " Win7 system through VMware installation CentOS7 "). Currently installed dual system, the network is recommended to use EASYBCD for installation, I have tried to use this software, but personally feel more trouble, especially in the need to install the CentOS7 image file is larger than 4GB (how to trouble see " Win7 system through EASYBCD installation CentOS7 ").
The following focuses on the use of optical drive installation CentOS7 in WIN7 system environment.
Step One:
A free drive letter is separated on the Win7 system. For example, my hard drive has a total space of 500G, divided by 4 disk characters (C, D, E, F). In order to install CentOS, I formatted the F-disk (formatted as NTFS and FAT32 are no problem). Note: This letter must be a logical partition and cannot be a primary partition. (This is always, otherwise you will not be able to create the/boot and/mount points during the installation of the CentOS process).
this is because a hard disk can have 1 to 3 primary partitions and an extended partition, or it can have only primary partitions and no extended partitions, but the primary partition must be at least 1, the extended partition is at most 1, and the primary partition + extended partition cannot exceed 4, the logical partitions can have several, as shown (the difference between a Windows primary partition and a logical partition can be self-Baidu).
That is, the partition status of the hard disk is as follows:
If you find that the free drive letter is a primary partition, you can use the PA3CN: partition helper to operate the hard disk and convert the primary partition to a logical partition. I did not convert the F-disk into a logical partition, resulting in the installation process of CentOS7 is always unable to create a mount point, the general report "Unable to allocate the requested partition scheme" error.
Step Two:
Insert the CENTOS7 installation disc, restart your computer, and set up your computer to boot from the CD drive. This will enter the CENTOS7 installation process.
