Win8 System open PDF file prompts remote Procedure call failure
The workaround is as follows:

Step 1: Start the System Configuration Utility
1. Log on to the computer using an account with administrator privileges.
2, press "Windows key +r", type msconfig in "Run", and then press ENTER. If prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
Step 2: Configure the Selective startup option;
1, on the General tab, click Selective Startup;
2. Under Selective startup, click to clear the Load Startup items check box;
3, click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable All.
4, click the "Start" tab, click "Open Task Manager", and then click "Disable" and determine;
5, and then click Restart.
Repair the system using the file Repair command:
1, press "Windows + X", click on the command Prompt (admin), click Yes;
2, input sfc/scannow, press ENTER.
