Failure phenomenon:
Since April 24, 2014, the WINDOWS8 computer with Automatic Updates will automatically install Windows Update KB 2957026, which occurs only on individual users ' computers, and volume licensing and enterprise users will not be installed. Windows Update KB2957026 will change the WINDOWS8 system upgrade prompt bar. The button on the upgrade prompt will change from "Go to Windows App Store" to "Install Now", and then perform the download automatically, reducing one step from the current process. The update was released on April 24, 2014 in some markets, followed by a global release on April 30.
Solution:
Current situation:
The Windows 8 System upgrade prompt box has two buttons: "Go to Windows Store" and "remind later".
When the user clicks the "Go to Windows App Store", the user goes to the App Store to introduce the windows8.1 page and clicks "Download" to complete the upgrade.
New changes:
The "Go to Windows App Store" button will be replaced with "Install Now". Click Install Now to start the installation process, one step lower than before. The "Remind later" button is still retained.
Users will see the following screen, the screen lasts a few seconds (dot indicates download start)
The user then sees the download progress status, as shown in the following figure:
Windows App Store tile
Current status: Apply store tile only show shopping bag icon
new changes: after installing KB2957026, the App Store icon prompts the user for a free upgrade now available.
The following is an analog user interface. Users will see text prompts for "free upgrades to Windows 8.1"
