First, load the disk volume. In Windows 8, under the Start interface, click the Desktop icon to enter the desktop environment. Then move the cursor to the lower left corner of the desktop taskbar, pop-up "Start" icon, right click on the icon, click "Disk Management" (see Figure 1) in the pop-up Start menu to open the Computer Management program. Next, click Disk Management on the left frame of the window to load all the disk volumes under the right frame of the window.

Second, create a VHD virtual hard disk. Open the Computer Management program, right-click the Disk Management icon in the frame on the left of the window, click the Create VHD menu (see Figure 2), and open the Create and attach virtual hard disk dialog box. Next, click the Browse button under the dialog box, select the location of the virtual hard disk (where the file path is "E: Picture library", file name is "123456"), click the "Save" button to return to the previous dialog box, "Virtual hard disk size" can be set, as long as the disk partition is not free space, This is set to "10000" MB according to your own needs. Select "VHD" and "Fixed size" below "virtual hard disk format" to keep the virtual hard disk space unchanged and click OK to complete the creation (see Figure 3).

Again, attach the virtual hard disk (load the virtual file). After you double-click Computer on your desktop, open the new Volume (E:) → photo gallery window. Right click on the 123456 file icon (that is, the VHD image file you just created), and click the Mount menu to finish loading the file. Open the computer again on the desktop, the virtual hard disk icon does not appear, and you need to initialize the virtual hard disk.

Finally, initialize the disk. Under the Computer Management window, right-click the Disk Management icon on the left side of the frame, right-click the disk 2 icon at the bottom of the window, click Initialize disk in the menu that pops up (see Figure 4), and open the Initialize Disk dialog box. Next, check Disk 2, select MBR (Master boot record), under Choose Disk. When you click the OK button, open the New Simple Volume wizard dialog box. When you continue to click the Next button, the Specify Volume Size dialog box appears. After "Simple volume size", enter the size of the new volume, enter "9997" here. Next, click the Next button, and under the Assign Drive Letter and Path dialog box, click Assign the following actuator number (A) to automatically assign a "G:" Disk. Then, click the Next button and the Format Partition dialog box appears. Select "Format this volume as follows", and the following settings do not have to be changed. Check the "Perform Quick format" button, and shortly after clicking Next, the "completing the New Simple Volume Wizard" dialog box appears, and then you can click the Finish button. After you restart your computer, a virtual hard disk "New Volume G: Disk" appears under computer.
