Ii. Network and Sharing Center introduction
The Win 8 network and Sharing Center interface is compared to the WINDOWS7 network and Sharing Center, and Windows 8 network and Sharing Center reduces "Connect to Network" and "Set shared Files" in Change network settings. Connect to network Merge to set up a new connection or network, set shared files into a share of folder properties, and look more concise.
The left sidebar contents of the network and share center are:
Control Panel Home: You can return directly to the Control Panel home page
Change adapter settings: You can configure all the computers that can be installed on the Internet, LAN, etc.
Change advanced sharing settings: You can set permissions settings for different network users.
Internet Options: You can set the IE10 Internet properties.
Windows Firewall: You can set up a network firewall for Windows 8.
HomeGroup: You can create and change homegroup settings.
The right contents of the network and Sharing Center are:
L View the active network: Lists all the current networks that are connected to the Internet, LAN, attribute description and Status view of the network, and whether the network can join the HomeGroup network.
L Change Network settings: You can add, remove, set up a network connection, set up routers, access points, and troubleshoot problems when you encounter a network problem.
Third, the network hardware property settings
In Network and Sharing Center, click Change adapter settings on the left sidebar to open the Network Connection window, where all devices that can connect to the Internet, LAN, and so on are present in the list.
Right-clicking on a network device, click Properties, you can open the properties of this device. There are two "network" and "share" tags. Here we can set the Mac, IP, DNS, etc. of this device manually.
Here is a detailed description of how we can modify and optimize the device properties.
Modify IP and DNS for network devices.
Step one: In the Network tab, in this connection use the following items, double-click Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPV4), or select this option and then click Properties.
Step Two: Windows 8 defaults to select "Automatically obtain IP address" and "Automatically obtain DNS server address". All we need to do is change the "Use the following IP address" and "Use the following DNS server addresses" and then under "IP Address", "Subnet mask", "Default network Management" and " Preferred DNS server, alternate DNS server, enter what you want to modify, and then click OK.
Small hint: The subnet mask of the home area network generally is 255.255.255.0,windows 8 will fill in automatically, the subnet mask belongs to the more specialized network communication content, therefore does not introduce. The default gateway can be left blank, Windows 8 will automatically search the network gateway server IP. The preferred DNS server and the alternate DNS server can also be left blank, and Windows 8 will automatically match the DNS server for the gateway. Also note that if the router (gateway) on which the computer is connected has DHCP enabled, the network connection will not work properly if the user specifies the IP address, because the IP address assigned to the computer by the router may be conflicting with the IP address that the user has made.
modifying IP and DNS steps
Click the Advanced button to go to Advanced TCP/IP settings. In IP settings, you can set multiple IP addresses, subnet masks, and default gateways for network devices. Windows 8 will automatically match one to the most appropriate.
In the DNS tab, you can also set up multiple DNS servers and sort the DNS servers.
In the WINS tab, you can set up a map of the host name and IP address in the local area network, which is not typically used by home users for detailed information.
Modify MAC Address
In the Network tab, in connection with, click the Configure button to open the drive properties of the network device. Then click on "Advanced tab", select "Network Address" in the attribute list, then select "Value" on the right side, fill in the box with the MAC address without "-", such as "010B0C75ECCD", and then click "OK".
Installing, uninstalling network protocols
Some network applications, games need some win 8 default do not install network protocol (such as Red Alert 2 LAN battle needs to be outdated network protocol ipx/spx), then we need to manually install. Step one: In the Network tab, click the Install button to open the Select Network feature type, select Protocol, and click the Add button.
Step two: If you have a network protocol in the list that you want to install, select and click OK. If not, click "Install from Disk" and select the network Protocol's folder location to display the installed network protocol in the list, and then click OK.
