Windows 7 reading domain server files (Samba)

After installing Windows 7, I found a file server that could not access the company's domain. The file server uses the Linux + Samba architecture, so I used SSH to directly log on to the server to find files, it's really troublesome. I really can't stand it today. I decided to study the problem and share my experience with you.

The server system architecture has been explained. When \ servername \ foldername \ is input in the Start Menu, enter the domain user/password according to common sense and then use it. However, this time my identity cannot be verified, and the user name and password are always prompted.

Go to "Network and Sharing Center" and find that there is no computer information in the domain. Go to "Advanced sharing settings" and set "Network discovery" and "Public folder sharing" to "Turn on, computing in the domain is retrieved one by one. Try \ servername \ foldername \ and it cannot be opened.

Because the system always prompts that the user name and password are incorrect, the Ping server can be pinged. If the Local Group Policy has a problem with account authentication, go to gpedit. msc. In Computer Configuration \ Windows Settings \ Security Settings \ Local Policies \ Security Options, find the "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" option and find that this option is "Not Defined" (undefined ).

Double-click this option to set the "Send LM & NTLM-use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated" policy. "LM & NTLM" is the authentication policy supported by 2000 and XP, if the server supports NTLMv2, you can select this option.

After modifying the Group Policy, you can log on to the file server, and because you do not need to enter the user name and password for authentication in the domain, after entering the file server address in the Start Menu, Windows 7 will automatically retrieve all subfolders in the directory and display them in the Start Menu. This is really convenient, I hope this article will help you with the same problem.
