Win7 System Disk Cleanup tips-C Disk Cleanup 2012-03-27

Why is my c disk less and less space? Every Time Windows 7 is started, nothing is done, or even some software is uninstalled, but the disk C becomes larger. Is the C drive getting smaller and smaller after Windows 7 is installed? What is the problem? How can I solve the problem of system disk space of the C drive?

As one of the top 10 common Windows 7 problems, this problem is universal. We will not talk about it here. We will go directly to the topic ., In addition, the most perfect solution is provided. However, some system settings and optimization are involved here. Although there is no danger, we recommend that you take a closer look. At least, you need to know the principles and methods to restore the past at any time. After all, some reasons why Windows 7 occupies disk C space are good for everyone's systems, such as applications.ProgramCache and so on.

It is worth noting that this article uses drive C to refer to the drive letter with Windows 7 installed. Drive C is used to represent that you have installed drive letter win7 to other drive letters, and you have also painted a line based on the gourd.

1. hibernate file hiberfil. sys

This file is a hidden system file in the root directory of the C drive. This hiberfil is hidden. the sys file size is exactly the same as your physical memory. When you sleep your computer, Windows 7 writes all the memory content to hiberfil before shutting down the system. sys File. Then, when you re-open the computer, the operating system uses hiberfil. sys to put all the information back into the memory, and the computer is restored to the status before it is disabled. However, Windows 7 does not delete this file, but keeps it on the hard disk, occupying part of the disk space. With the sleep function, you can choose not to sleep, and all the team members will shut down this hard drive. It occupies space and frequently reads and writes to hard disks.

To safely delete a sleep file in Windows 7, run cmd.exe (in the windows \ system32 folder) with the administrator ID. Open the command line window and run powercfg-H off. Note: The Hidden hiberfil. SYS file on disk C can be deleted directly after being unhidden. (You can also enter powercfg-H on to enable sleep mode) or save @ powercfg-H off as offhibernaion. BAT for batch processing, and run and disable sleep as an administrator. (Similarly, @ powercfg-H on is created to run onhibernaion. BAT for batch processing)

2. Virtual Memory Pagefile. sys

For Windows systems, including Windows 7, the size of physical memory is set to 1.5 times by default. As a paging swap file, if you are the size managed by the system, the size automatically changes, it is always getting bigger and bigger. If your physical memory is small and only MB or 1 GB, you can choose to keep this file.

If this file is retained, we recommend that you put it in another partition, not with drive C (System Disk). Otherwise, when you do a ghost or other backup, you still need to manually delete it. We recommend that you specify the ram physical memory size to 1.5 times.

If you have more than 2 GB of memory, we recommend that you disable the virtual memory function. You will find that your entire Windows system is "Flying.

How to Set virtual memory: computer-properties-advanced system settings-settings. In the virtual memory area (item 1), click set. Note: The residual pagefile. SYS file on disk C can be deleted directly after being unhidden.

    3. System Recovery: system volume information folder. The Chinese name can be translated into "system volume Tag Information ". This folder stores the backup information restored by the system. How to disable System Restoration: Right-click computer> system protection> Configuration> disable System Protection
    4. Auto-upgraded patchService Pack backup file Cleaning Method: Drive C (System Disk)-properties-clear disk-clear system files, the options are checked to clear
