If there is only one network cable in the house, but two or more laptops need to connect to the network, with the help of software, you can turn the notebook into a wireless router, that is, "WiFi Hotspot ".
Taking Windows 7 as an example, it actually comes with WiFi and softap (Virtual Wireless AP) functions. You only need to activate them to turn your notebook into a "WiFi Hotspot ", connect other laptops to your laptop.
Turn on the wireless network card "Switch" of your laptop, and press win + R as an administrator → enter "cmd" → press Enter. Then, enter the "netsh WLAN set hostednetwork mode = allow SSID = binglanpc key = binglanwifi" command in the opened command prompt and press Enter, in this way, the virtual Wi-Fi network card is initially enabled and set.
PS: This command has three parameters. Mode: whether to enable the virtual Wi-Fi network card. If it is changed to disallow, It is disabled. SSID: wireless network name. It is best to use English (take binglanpc as an example). Key: wireless network password, more than 8 characters (this document uses binglanwifi as an example ).
When you see an additional wireless connection 2 named "Microsoft Virtual WiFi miniport adapter" in "network connection", it indicates that the connection is successfully enabled. To distinguish it from other NICs, rename it "virtual WiFi ".
Next, connect to the Internet. In "network connection", right-click the network connection that has been connected to the Internet, and select "properties"> "share"> "allow other ...... Connect (n) "→" virtual WiFi. After you click "OK", the shared Nic icon appears.
PS: the error code "cannot enable shared access: 0x80004005: unspecified error" may appear. In this case, right-click "computer" on the desktop ", choose "manage"> on the left-side menu bar, double-click to open the "service and application" menu → select "service" → find and select "Windows Firewall" on the right → click "enable this "service ", then, perform the preceding operation.
Next, run netsh WLAN start hostednetwork in the command prompt to enable the wireless network.
PS: When you change "start" to "stop", you can disable the wireless network.
At last, the Red Cross of the virtual WiFi will disappear, which indicates that the "WiFi Base Station" has been created. Search for wireless network "binglanpc" and enter the password "binglanwifi" in other laptops to share the internet!
