1. First, create a new port. The procedure is as follows:
1. In wind7/wind8, go to the "control panel"-"device and printer page" of the system, as shown in the figure below.
2. As shown in the following figure, the "print and server properties" dialog box is displayed:
3. Click the "port" tab in print and server properties:
4. Now, click "Add port" in the red box, as shown in the following figure:
5. Now, the printer Port dialog box is displayed. Click "Local Port" -- "New Port", as shown in the figure.
6. Enter the port name "IP address of the Windows XP system computer or the name of the shared printer computer" (double quotation marks are not included in the input) -- "OK.
2. Download the printer driver.
1. Generally, the printer has a drive CD. If we do not search Baidu, pay attention to the system bit data of the driver. If you are a 32-bit printer, download the 32-bit driver, 64-bit download 64-bit driver (recommended: view the number of bits in the window system and port usage)
2. After downloading the driver package, the installation wizard will pop up.
3. Click "yes" in the pop-up menu. The dialog box is displayed, as shown in the following figure:
4. Click "yes" to bring up the "printer driver installation window", as shown in the figure below:
5. Click "next"
6. Click "add new printer"> "next ".
7. When adding a printer, select the model of the printer and click "next ":
8. Now, click "inverted triangle number" on the port tab in the pop-up dialog box, and select the port we just created, if you want to set it as the preferred option, you can set it to "set as default" and then click next.
9. At last, you will be reminded to "whether to install the driver" _> "Yes", so you can try it out.
