In Microsoft's official blog, Microsoft emphasized that the Enterprise Windows 8.1 Enterprise system supports IT administrators to set and change the default layout characteristics of the system's start page. "Windows 8.1 Enterprise is currently open and contains new features known as Start Page control." This is designed for IT pros to set the Start Page layout for group users and to prevent other users from changing the new features of the layout. ”
To do this is very simple, and then IT administrators can set the Start page layout in their mind. The screenshot above is the example. Microsoft says that to export the layout, you can use the following PowerShell command:
PS c:> export-startlayout–as Xml–path \contoso-mgmtlayouts$manageduser.xml
You can then access the Group Policy manager and enter gpedit.msc in the Run project. Navigate to User Settings > Policies > Admin templates > Start menu and Taskbar, and locate the Start Page Layout policy item. The final step is to link to the export layout file through PowerShell.
The start page is then completely locked and the user will not be able to make changes to the layout. Ordinary users cannot add new tiles, or delete demagnetization stickers and reorder the tiles.
