This blog records the methods for installing Windows and Redhat dual systems. Here the Windows system is Win8.1,redhat is Rhel-server-7.0-x86_64-linuxprobe.com.iso, the ISO file will be in the blog at the end of the Baidu Cloud to share the way. In general, the process of installing a dual system is relatively simple and can be broadly divided into the following steps:

First, make sure your Windows system is working properly, although I use win8.1 here, but the Win7 and WIN10 systems also apply this method.

Second, on the hard disk to divide a partition of more than 50G, used to install Redhat.

Third, since the installation of Redhat, the boot of Redhat will overwrite the boot of Windows, so you need to add the boot of Windows to the Redhat.

The installation begins formally below.

First, partitions are partitioned on Windows.

In "My Computer", click "Manage". Enter the Computer Management interface.

Click on "Disk Management" in the "Computer Management" interface to access the Disk Management interface. Create a new partition, and the size of my new partition here is 80G.

Next, you need to format the partition, note that the Linux system can only recognize Fast32 and ext3, EXT4 format of the file system, does not recognize the NTFS format of the file system, so format can not use NTFS format. Here we use a third-party software to complete the format, the software is Diskgenius. We use Diskgenius to format the partition EXT4.

After the format is complete, we start burning the Redhat installation USB drive. Here we need to prepare a 8G and above the USB flash drive, note that when making a USB flash drive to the data in the first backup, because in the production of the installation of the USB stick, the data will be deleted in the USB. There are many tools for installing the USB flash drive, which we use refus to make. Refus is a U-disk burning tool that is easy to use without installation.

It takes a while to make the installation of the USB flash drive, and the system can be installed formally. Restart the computer, such as the boot interface, select our installation USB drive, will enter the installation interface.

Hit Enter to enter the next interface. The interface is ready for installation.

Then go to the Select language interface. You can choose English, or you can choose Chinese. The options for Chinese are located at the bottom of the drop-down list.

Enter the system installation interface. Click the section in the red bezel to select the System software type.

Select a system with a graphical interface.

Click the Red Box selected section and select the system installation location, this step is the key step.

After selecting the installation location, click the "Done" button in the top left corner to return to the main installation screen. When everything is ready, click "Begin Ins" on the main screen to start the installation.

Install the official start, select the left and right sides of the red box selected section, set the root user's password and create a normal user.

Set the root user's password.

Create a normal user.

Installation is complete. Click "Reboot" to restart.

After rebooting, enter the system initialization interface. Select the Red Bezel section to accept the system's Licence (use license).

Accept the use license.

Enter the Setup interface for the Kdump service.

Enter the system registration interface, and do not register the system temporarily.

Enter the system Welcome screen.

At this point, the more than half. But the next time you turn it on, you'll see that Windows boot is missing, so you'll need to add Windows boot to Redhat. Modify the Grub.cfg file. Execution command line: Vim/boot/grub2/grub.cfg

Find # # # # # # Begin/etc/grub.d/30_os-prober in the back add Windows Startup items:
Menuentry "Windows 8.1" {
Set root= ' HD0,MSDOS1 '
Chainloader +1
}
# # # End/etc/grub.d/30_os-prober # #

  Because the grub.cfg is carefully edited with the VM, you need to wq save to exit after editing is complete. Then restart to see the win8.1 startup item.

Dual system installation is complete.
