Host: Windows XP, Guest: Linux (nUbuntu), virtual machine: VirtualBox1.5.2, using Putty (ssh) to connect the Host to Guest.

First download the required software (system), install VirtualBox, run it, and then start to install Linux (nUbuntu contains openssh)

Run the tool after installation to check whether it can be used properly. The default network adapter of VirtualBox accesses the Internet through NAT, but is available immediately after installation. The NAT mode only allows outbound connection requests from the Guest. Therefore, there is no problem in accessing the Internet in the Guest, but the network service cannot be enabled in the Guest mode. Therefore, you cannot access the Internet from the outside (including the Host) connect to Guest through SSH (Google search ).

You can use A virtual network card to implement the required environment. In Settings> network> Add A new Host network Interface, and select Host Interface in connection (, therefore, two network connections (one of which is the VM console host network interface 1) should be displayed in XP to share the original Nic, in this case, the IP address of host network interface 1 on the VM console is set to 192.168.0.1 (or manually set), and The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Run the VM to access the Internet in Linux (Ip Address: 192.168.0.xx ).

Modify the ssh configuration file to implement ssh management. Finally, Putty is used to implement ssh connection between Windows and Linux.
