Many people have just started using Windows Azure and want to test the most basic features: using a virtual machine to publish a test site. Most of the features of an azure virtual machine are similar to local, and some settings require users to do special operations on the management portal. Next, we work together to complete the process from creating a win Server 2012R2 virtual machine to publishing a test site using that virtual machine.

After logging in to the Management portal https://manage.windowsazure.cn, select New > virtual machine > From library

Basic configuration of the virtual machine:

(1) Release date: Nothing to say.

(2) Virtual machine name: The user identifies and manages the virtual machine on the Azure management portal and, if necessary, can then rename it by deleting the virtual machine and reserving the disk > recreating the virtual machine using disk.

(4) Size: virtual machine size will affect the number of CPU cores, memory, additional disks and other performance indicators. the virtual machine size can be reconfigured later through the management portal, and testing our choice of single core is sufficient. (5) Username and password: the user name and password that will be used by RDP to telnet to the virtual machine. password requirements are complex : lowercase, uppercase, numeric, special characters, at least three kinds. the user name cannot be admin/administrator.

To configure a virtual machine:

(1) Cloud services: equivalent to the public network to provide services to the container, will give your virtual machine to provide DNS name, public IP, etc., and its deployment ID is also the Technical Support department to query the status of the virtual machine important information.

(2) Cloud service DNS name: This domain name can be resolved to Azure to your virtual machine assigned to the public IP address, can not be the same as other user settings , so I was forced to add win behind the webserver, Because webserver.chinacloudapp.cn has already been used by other users. In general, customers will put their own website domain name cname to this domain name, after the mapping, to the visitor service.

(3) Regional/geo-group/virtual network: This involves planning a virtual machine's network environment, taking into account that the difficulty level of this article is beginner, no more in-depth explanation. We have temporarily selected "eastern China" and "northern China", where users can choose a closer data center based on their physical location. (4) Storage account: If you already have a storage account, select one, and if you do not have a storage account, this option prompts "use an automatically generated storage account." Your Windows virtual machine system will be placed in a 127G VHD in the VHDs container under this storage account, and the Linux system disk will be 30G in the same location. (5) Endpoint: that is, port mapping, in fact, the port of the virtual machine is not exposed to the public network, in order to access through the public network, you need to add such an azure intranet to the public network port mapping, Azure by default will add two to your Windows Server: PowerShell and RDP.
