Background: Native Ubuntu 18.04, want to update Ubuntu software, but from Windows can not copy content to Ubuntu, the problems encountered are as follows
1. You want to install WMware tools, but this error is displayed:VMware Tools Installation cannot be started manually and easy install are in progress.
Reference: 42211497 resolution
I made the following changes in my own VMware:
Change CD/DVD to auto detect in vm-->setting
Change the shared folders to Enabled in option
2. Then install VMware Tools
Here you can refer to: 70196617/with detailed steps
3. During the installation process
After decompression will be more than a folder named Vmware-tools-distrib, go in, perform vmware-install.pl to install
CD Vmware-tools-distrib/sudo./vmware-install.pl
Enter the password to install, the process of installation is not smooth sailing, other people's blog said always press the ENTER key is good.
But when I installed it, I encountered a saying that I could not find the path, I entered a specific directory, I entered the no option, otherwise I kept reminding. After a large number of hit enter, finally installed.
Then reboot, restart Ubuntu, and then copy and paste content from Windows to Ubuntu.
