[Windows Server 2008] Serv-u Security Settings

• This section is connected to the previous section "Serv-u installation Configuration", so Serv-u has been installed and configured well.

· Serv-u is run as system service by default, and it is very dangerous to run an account on the systems. Need to fall right and give proper reading
Write permissions.

1. Establish a system account to run Serv-u

1) Add a user, named Servu_hws;

2) Set user Servu_hws only belong to Guests Group;

2. Set permissions for the Serv-u directory

1) Find the Serv-u execution directory (within the system service, the service name defaults to serv-u);

Perform directory directory Administrators, SYSTEM "Full Control" permission for Serv-u, and give Serv-u_hws "full
Control "permission;

2) Locate the FTP file storage directory (serv-u management Console);

Directory Administrators, SYSTEM "Full Control" permissions for FTP files, serv-u_hws "list folders
Content/read/write/delete "permissions;

(If you have more than one FTP file directory, you need to add the Serv-u_hws "List Folder contents/read/write/delete"

3. Set up Serv-u service

1) Set Serv-u service startup account to Serv-u_hws;

2) Restart the Serv-u service;

4. Test results

1) serv-u running account is SERV-U_HWS, success down right;
