From the version number, WIN 2008 is actually Vista SP1, but it is server-oriented, so the hardware driver can be applied to Vista. All the hardware drivers for Vista can be used in win 2008 without compatibility issues.
After the WIN2008 is installed, the hardware acceleration is set to "complete" by default!
As for the software, basically can be used under Xp/vista, 99% can also be used in Win 2008, these software including qq,360 Security satellite TV, Super Rabbit, Storm Audio and video, Thunder, Chin listening, winrar, the Internet Express, realplayer,nero7/ 8,cpu-z,acdsee, Jinshan wps, Violet Pinyin, everest,daemoncn,adberdr ... Anti-virus software on the market can basically be used on win 2008, there is no compatibility problem. I recommend installing Avast or NOD32 ESS because they are free to sync with normal upgrade virus library.
Previous old games also support, including cs1.5/1.6, Frozen throne, Half Life 2, World of Warcraft and so on, can be said that the market common games more than 90% can be used in win 2008 normal use without compatibility issues.
Speaking of game compatibility issues, there may be a lot of people who will encounter these small problems, I would say the solution.
A. Screen refresh rate issue.
Many friends play games as long as a full screen game, screen refresh rate will fall to 60HZ, feel "flashing" to the eyes tired. With the liquid crystal friends do not have to worry, due to the characteristics of the LCD screen, 60HZ is the standard refresh rate of many LCD screen, this will not make you feel "flash". A friend with a CRT is not so lucky. In the XP era, the replacement value of the DX diagnostic Tool can be resolved by fixing the refresh rate to "85HZ". But in the Vista ERA this method has failed, there is no alternative value option in the DX Diagnostic tool.
Workaround: With ha_refreshlock221 This software, it supports lock screen refresh rate in vista/2008.
B. Running the game tip "error C:/windows/system32/gameux.dll cannot find the specified module".
Because of the server system, for the sake of stability, the missing part DLL file can be understood.
Workaround: Download the compressed file, and then unzip the copy into c:/windows/system32/. Then do the following! Start → Run command register: regsvr32 gameux.dll. Prompt registration is OK after the success.
C. Unable to watch the game or movie animation, the "Vids:cvid decompression program cannot be found".
Server 2008 and Server 20,031 do not have this program component, specifically, two DLL files are missing.
Workaround:
1. On a PC with Windows 2000 or Windows XP, copy the two dynamic link library files Ir32_32.dll and Iccvid.dll from the C:/windows/system32 folder to the native c:/windows/ Under the System32 folder;
You can also find an installation disk for Windows2000 or Windows XP, enter command-line mode, and use expand D:/i386/ir32_32.dl_ c:/windows/system32/ir32_32 from the I386 folder on the CD. DLL (assuming the drive letter of the CDROM is the D drive) and the expand D:/i386/iccvid.dl_ c:/windows/system32/iccvid.dll both commands unzip the dynamic-link library file.
2. Open Registry Editor and locate Hkey_local_machine/software/microsof/windowsnt/currentversion/drivers32. Create a new Vidc.cvid string value in the right window, Set it to Iccvid.dll. Create a new VIDC.IV31 string value, set it to Ir32_32.dll, create a new vidc.iv32 string value, and set it to Ir32_32.dll as well. If you have trouble, I'll back it up.
