Six, ie set extremely easy

Microsoft Internet Explorer makes it easy to surf the internet, but if you want to use Internet Explorer, you have to configure it well. The Internet Options window in IE offers a comprehensive set of options (such as "Home", "temporary", "security Level", and "Content Advisor"), but some advanced features are not available and can be easily implemented by Group Policy. Here's a concrete example:

Location: Group Policy console → User Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows component →internet Explorer (add inetres.adm template file) "

1. Disable the Open in New Window menu item (Windows 2000/xp/2003)

For security reasons, sometimes it is necessary to screen some of the features of IE menu, Group Policy provides a rich set of items, such as disabling "Save As ...", "File", "new" and so on. The following is an example of how to set a specific setting by disabling ' Open ' menu items in a new window.

Open the Group Policy console → User Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows components →internet explorer→ Browser menu, and then open the Disable ' Open in New Window ' menu item and set to Enabled. When this policy is enabled, the command will not work when the user right-clicks on a link and then clicks Open in New window. This policy can be used with the ' File ' menu to disable ' New ' menu item '. The latter prevents users from clicking the File menu, pointing to New, and then clicking Windows to open the browser in a new window (as shown in Figure 8, the new → window item is no longer available).

Tip: When you enable this policy, click the Open in New Window command, you will not be able to open the link in a new window, the system prompts the user that the command is invalid, the Web page automatically opens the window is all banned, in fact, it can also achieve the effect of shielding pop-up ads window.

2. Restrict the save feature of IE browser (Windows 2000/xp/2003)

In the use of IE browsing the Web page, when you encounter good pictures, articles and other resources can use the "Save as" feature to save it to the local hard drive, when many people share a computer, in order to keep the hard drive neat, need to save the browser function restrictions. So how do you do that? You can do this by opening the Group Policy console → User Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows components →internet explorer→ Browser menu, and then the ' File menu in the right pane: ' Disable ' Save As ... ' menu item ', ' File ' Menu: Disable Save As Web page menu item, ' View ' menu: Disable ' source Files ' menu items ' and ' Disable context menu ' all of the policy items are enabled.

If you don't want others to make changes to IE browser settings, you can enable the ' Tools ' menu: Disable ' Internet Options ... ' policy. In addition, you can also disable other items in the pane, depending on your personal needs.

3. Disabling the Internet Options control Panel (Windows 2000/xp/2003)

The above mentioned the "Disable Internet Options" feature, which can be used to prevent others from the casual setting of IE. This approach does not specifically disable the control template project in Internet Options, so it can cause problems for specific applications. The following Group Policy setting method enables this requirement:

Open the Group Policy console → User Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows components →internet explorer→internet Control Panel, in the right pane we can see "Disable regular pages", "Disable Security page" and other Group Policy items. The following is an example of disabling regular pages: Open the Disable General page in the right pane and set to Enabled. And then we'll open the Internet Options Control Panel, you will find that the general project is gone (Figure 9), so that users will not be able to see and change settings for the home page, cache, history, page appearance, and accessibility because the policy will remove the General tab on the interface, so if you set this policy , you do not need to set policies such as "Disable changing home settings", "Disable changing color settings," in the user Configuration → administrative Templates →windows component →internet Explorer.

4. Prohibit changes to the home page of IE browser (Windows 2000/xp/2003)

If you do not want others to make arbitrary changes to their own set of IE browser homepage, you can open the Group Policy console → User Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows components →internet explorer→ toolbar, and then select the "Disable Change home settings" Group Policy and enable it. Also in this pane, disabled features are available for items such as change history settings, change color settings, and change temporary Internet file settings.

When this policy is enabled, the settings for the home area of the General tab in IE Browser are dimmed in the Internet Options dialog box.

Tip: If you set the Disable regular pages policy in the Group Policy console → User Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows component →internet explorer→internet Explorer Control Panel, you do not need to set this policy because the "Disable regular pages" Policy deletes the General tab on the interface.
