First, the preparatory work:

1. Prepare the Windows XP Professional Simplified Chinese installation CD and check that the optical drive supports self-booting.

2. If possible, scan all hard disks with ScanDisk before running Setup to check for hard drive errors and fix them, or it will be cumbersome to check for hard drive errors when Setup runs.

3. Record the product key (install serial number) of the installation file using paper.

4. If possible, back up all drivers under the original Windows XP to the hard disk (for example, f:drive) with the driver Backup tool (e.g., Driver Wizard 2004 V1.9 Beta.exe). It is best to write down the motherboard, network card, video card and other major hardware models and manufacturers, pre-download driver backup.

5. If you want to format the C or D drive during the installation process (the recommended format for the installation of C-drive), Windows7 the ultimate version, please back up the C-drive or D-disk useful data.

Second, start the system with CD-ROM:

(If you already know the method, go to the next step), reboot the system and set the CD drive as the first boot disk, save the settings and restart. Put the XP installation CD in the CD drive and restart your computer. Third, install Windows XP Professional

The installation interface will appear as shown in Figure 1 below as soon as the CD has been started.

In Figure 8, when you start copying files, the Setup program starts initializing the Windows configuration after the files have been copied. The system will then restart automatically after 15 seconds. After restarting, it appears as shown in Figure 9 below

The regional and language settings are selected by default, and the "Next" button appears as shown in Figure 11 below.

Start the installation, copy the system files, install the network system, and soon appear as shown in Figure 16

Enter the account number and password provided by telecom or Unicom, enter your preferred name at "Your ISP's service name", which is the name of the shortcut menu for the dial-up connection, and if left blank the system will automatically create a name called "My ISP" and click the "Next" button, as shown in Figure 24 below
