The advent of Windows XP SP2 makes our system more secure and brings many features that are not needed by common users. Although the computer configuration is getting higher and higher, these useless features still consume our system resources, resulting in slow system usage. Is there any way to remove these features? Yes! Please refer to the two methods described by the author.
1. Use the "Add/delete Windows Components" Function
For a lot of services and functions provided by Windows XP SP2, we may use "Control Panel → add or delete programs ", select "Add/delete Windows Components" to uninstall an unused Windows system component.
Note: not all Windows system components allow us to manually uninstall them. Even if you open "Add/delete programs", they cannot be traced. For example, "Windows automatic update.
Ii. Clear Windows non-component files
After the above settings, we have uninstalled most useless Windows system components, and the hard disk space occupied by the system has dropped to several hundred megabytes. We also need to continue manual cleaning of useless Windows non-components.
Step 1: Open System Properties, select the optimal performance from advanced performance options, and disable all Windows effects. This allows you to easily Delete Windows theme files. (Figure 17)
Step 2: In "Resource Manager", choose "Tools> Folder Options> View", remove "Hide protected or operating system files", and select "show all files ". (Figure 18)
Step 3: Open the X: WindowsSYSTEM32 (X is the partition of the operating system) folder and delete the following files:
Help (help File) Installer (installed file backup)
Ime (input method) LastGood. Tmp (the last correct STARTUP configuration)
All files in inf Resources (excluding this folder)
Step 4: Go to X: Program FilesWindows Media Player and delete all the installation backup files under the Installer.
Using the above two methods, Windows XP SP2 will not look as bloated as it was before, and the system will run faster. If you are interested, please try it!
