Description
This tutorial is based on the PC (model: Shenzhou k550d-i7 D1) successfully installed test release, different hardware environment may have subtle differences, in order to prevent unexpected error during installation, important data please backup in advance
Hardware environment
Cpu:intel I7-4710MQ
Memory: 8GB DDR3
HDD: 1TB hitachi Mechanical HDD
Important statement
This tutorial is installed in order to install WIN10 before installing Ubuntu 14.04,grub Boot, and two operating systems are UEFI boot, This tutorial is not available if your PC motherboard does not support UEFI boot .
UEFI Boot Support
How to check if your computer motherboard supports UEFI, see six ways to determine if UEFI boot is possible
The tools that need to be used
UltraISO for making system mirroring boot disks
Diskgenius for viewing and resizing disk partitions
PE Repair Tool for maximum remediation and recovery of possible system failures during installation
The above tools please self-search download and learn to use, this tutorial focuses on the installation of dual-system process
Basic principles to understand
In order to reduce unnecessary misuse and lead to waste of time and energy or unexpected loss, we recommend that readers click on the following links to understand the basic principles related to the operating system, the basic students can skip directly

Prepare the Mirror
Assuming that you have downloaded the Ubuntu14.04 system image,
haven't downloaded the image yet? Click here to download:ubuntu 14.04.5 Desktop (64-bit ) Ubuntu 14.04.5 Desktop (32-bit)
Open Uitraiso, click "File", "open" on the toolbar above, select Ubuntu14.04 image file
Import successfully and then click "Start", "Write to Hard disk", pop-up menu directly click "Write"
dividing free disk space
Plan for the Ubuntu system to allocate how much hard disk space, if it is to learn the suggestion can be divided into 100GB, if you often use the scene according to the actual need to partition more hard disk space, here to allocate 100GB space for Ubuntu operating system as an example
Shortcut key win+x, select Disk Management
Right-click the disk you want to compress, select Compress volume
Set the size of the compressed space, complete the disk space adjustment, after the compression is complete there will be an unallocated disk space
This unallocated disk space is used as a back-up to Ubuntu partition
Setting up the BIOS
Close FastBoot and Secureboot, specific access to the BIOS shortcut keys according to the computer model Baidu, is generally esc,f2,f10,f12. My computer model enters the BIOS setup interface shortcut key is ESC, after entering the BIOS,
Move the cursor left and right, enter the boot option, and change the fastboot back to disable.
Then turn the security boot off , move the cursor to secure boot (also the secure boot mode of the motherboard on the Security tab), and change the Enable Disable , F10 save and restart
Warm tip : Motherboard differences Some motherboards may not have fastboot or secure boot options, without confusion, different motherboard corresponding name, as long as there are any one of the above options to disable it.
Go to the Setup program
After the above steps are completed, you can enter the formal installation, before this search your computer model to enter the boot shortcut key, and enter the BIOS is different, generally is another shortcut key, insert a USB flash drive, shutdown restart, press ENTER boot shortcut key, enter boot Manager, is a prompt to select the interface of the boot device, similar to this
Select your USB drive device, press ENTER, you can boot into the installation program
you will then enter an interface to selectInstall UbuntuYes, if you choose.Try Ubuntu, it will go into the interface shown, and it's OK, this is to let you experience the Ubuntu system, mouse click on the iconInstall UbuntuTo enter the installation.
Then follow the prompts, click Next, notice the download and install the update This step, uncheck all tabs, unless you are very confident about the current network situation, and can break through some non-descriptive obstacles, otherwise the process of waiting will be very painful
The next installation type interface must be noted, select Other options , customize Create and resize partitions, which can avoid a lot of trouble, don't repeat
Then go to the most critical system partitioning step, to a large extent directly determine whether you can install and start the system, but in fact, it is not difficult, then I give the exclusive dedication of the security zoning steps, according to this to ensure that you are foolproof
Format the partition and mount the directory
File system is the method used by the operating system to clear the organization and storage of data, Linux file system needs to be mounted to a directory, in other words, the directory is to enter your assigned to a specific disk interval of the portal, Linux commonly supported file system has EXT4,NFS, etc. Windows common File system has Nfts,fat32
The general steps for creating and enabling a file system are
1. Create a partition
2. Set the partition start position and size
3. Specify the file system type (that is, the format partition that we often call)
4. Mount to Directory
Next we will follow the above steps to partition Ubuntu, just we came to this interface
Select the device identified as free, click on the "+" tab in the lower left corner, go to the partition settings, first give the root directory "/" Allocate 16GB space as an example
Click OK, continue clicking on the spare device, click on the "+" tab, respectively, need to divide the following sections:
Swap partition: 16384MB, logical partition, space start position, swap
EFI partition: 512MB, primary partition, space start location, EFI, must pay attention to this partition after completion of the device name , etc will install the boot program when it is important, such as my EFI partition corresponding device named/dev/sda5, Be sure to use the device name on your computer, and remember
USR partition: 20480MB, logical partition, space start position, EXT4,/usr
Home partition: All remaining space, logical partition, space start position, ext4,/home
after assigning each mount point, there is a crucial step that is to choose "Install the Boot launcher device", the default is wrong, since we assigned the EFI System boot partition for Ubuntu, then obviously, it should bechange to the partition that was just assigned EFI boot.(for example, when I install it is/DEV/SDA5, then I choose this).
Then click Install, it looks like a tedious two-system installation is ready to go, have a cup of coffee, wait for a while, then enter the new system, enjoy and explore your hard work!
