Why Windows7 C disk free space is getting smaller?
In general, Windows 7 occupies about 20GB of hard disk space. In the course of use, the disk space of the system disk becomes smaller and is normal.

Put away the picture and expand the picture. Where is the free space in the C disk?
These spaces are used here:

Registry: User data and program data are constantly written to the registry, so the registry becomes larger.
Patch installation: When Windows update automatically opens, new patches are released almost every month. Additional space is required to install patches. (The patch replaces some files and backs up the original files.) )
System Restore: System Restore automatically creates restore points that require hard disk space.

There are also some places to use some disk space, here is not much to say.

Can you release some of the used space by lifting the image and expanding the image?
You can try these methods:
1. Regular Disk Cleanup

We can use the system again with the tools to do some regular disk cleanup. Improve performance by defragmenting your hard disk, using Disk Cleanup to remove junk files, and so on.

2. Set space usage limit for System Restore

  1. If the System Restore function is turned on, the system will automatically generate some image files to occupy the capacity of C disk. We can set the upper limit for this part of the space according to the size of the hard disk. This step requires administrator privileges .
