In Windows 8 Consumer preview, you can enter Safe mode by powering on F8 or SHIFT+F8, but the settings are more complex. There are two ways to enter Safe mode.
The first method:
1, Windows+r key to open the Run box, input msconfig, enter.
2. Open the "Boot" tab and check the "Safe boot" checkbox under Boot options.
3. Select the type of security startup
(1) Minimum (standard safe mode)
(2) Other enclosures (Safe Mode with Command Prompt)
(3) Active Directory
(4) Network (Safe Mode with network)
In general, choose 1 Minimum or 4 Safe mode with network, and then restart the computer can enter Safe mode, want to return to normal mode, only need to restore the above settings in Safe mode to remove the security boot, the same steps as above.
The second method:
Press and hold Shift+f8 when you turn on, and you can enter Safe mode.
Multiple systems into Safe mode:
1. Select Change defaults or other selections on the Multiple Boot boot menu.
2. Select "Select other Options" after entering the option.
3, then go to the next interface and click "Troubleshooting."
4. After entering the troubleshooting interface, select "Advanced Options".
5, Next Select "Windows startup settings."
6, the last click on the lower right of the reboot, restart automatically into Safe mode.
