In this article Bovinlai describes how to create a collection of virtual machines, before creating a collection, we first need to confirm the type of collection that we want to create, and in the Remote Desktop service
, two sets of virtual machines are available: personal and shared. Also, distinguish between managed and unmanaged, depending on whether the virtual machine is created and managed automatically. Because
There are four total combinations of this create virtual machine collection:
1. Managed Shared Virtual Desktop collection
The so-called hosting, is the automatic creation and management of virtual machines, so need to prepare the virtual machine template, the so-called common set, is when users connect to the collection, is to
Users assign a temporary virtual machine, so as long as the idle virtual machine can be allocated to use, so as to achieve the virtual machine sharing effect.
2. Managed Personal Virtual Desktop collection
A virtual machine template needs to be prepared; A personal collection is when a user connects to a collection and assigns a dedicated virtual machine to the user, so when a virtual
When a machine is assigned to a user for the first time, the virtual machine becomes private to that user, and even if it is idle, it is not assigned to another user.
3. Unmanaged Shared Virtual Desktop collection
Unmanaged is the manual creation and management of virtual machines, so you need to prepare each virtual machine manually and then add it to the virtual machine collection.
4. Unmanaged Personal Virtual Desktop collection
You need to prepare each virtual machine manually and then add it to the virtual machine collection.
Here is a brief introduction to the creation of the previous two collections, as follows:
1, open "Server Manager", click on the left-hand list of "Remote Desktop Services",
2, into the Remote Desktop Services Overview interface, click "Create Virtual Machine set", the following figure:
3, open the Create Collection Wizard, click Next,
4, enter the name of the collection, click Next,
5, in the collection type selection interface, to select what kind of collection to create,
The first type is the managed shared virtual Machine Desktop collection, selected as follows:
The second type is the managed personal virtual Machine desktop collection, selected as follows:
6, select a virtual machine template, click Next,
7, User assignment interface (the first type of collection does not have this step), this is the configuration of the second type collection for the first time a user connects to a virtual machine
If the virtual machine is automatically assigned, select Enable automatic user assignment, as shown in the following figure:
8, specify the virtual machine settings, here Select the default settings, click Next,
9. Specify time zone and organizational unit (organizational unit needs to be created in advance in AD), click Next,
10, specify which users and user groups have access to connect to the collection, click Next,
11, specify the total number of virtual machines to be created in this collection, click Next,
12, specify the virtual machine storage path, here Select the Local RD Virtualization Host (physical machine) disk, click Next,
The interface of the first collection type is as follows:
The second collection type has the following interface:
13, specify the user profile storage path (the second collection type user profile is stored in each user-specific virtual machine disk, so there is no such step), this is the configuration of the first collection type, you need to specify the disk path of the Local RD Virtualization Host (physical machine), click Next,
14, confirm the choice of configuration information, click "Create",
15, create the collection process from the virtual machine template will first export the virtual machine, and then start the virtual machine to do a series of operations, such as: Automatically assign IP address, automatically join the domain, and so on, the specific steps to see the following diagram:
A. Exporting virtual machines ...
See the movement in Hyper-V Manager:
B. After you export the virtual machine successfully, start the virtual machine ...
At this point, the Hyper-V manager has a newly created virtual machine, and is starting to run, a series of configuration ...
When the first virtual machine is configured, it then creates a second virtual machine, starts running, and makes a series of configurations ...
C. Collection Creation Success!
After the collection is created, we can open Remote Desktop Services in Server Manager, see the chart in the overview, and see all the created sets
Together, as shown in the following figure:
