How do I create a broadband connection to connect to a network when Windows XP is installed with only "My Computer" on the desktop and no Internet access?
, on the Network Neighborhood icon, right-click the "Properties" button.
, in the Network task List on the left, click the Create a new connection item.
, to the New Connection wizard interface, click "Next" directly.
, select the type of network connection. My home network, so select "Connect to the Internet" and click "Next".
, set up your Internet connection, select the "Set my connection Manually" item, and click Next.
, "Connect with a broadband connection that requires a username and password," click Next.
, just enter the name of your ISP, or click Next without typing.
, enter the username and password provided by the network operator and make sure that "use this account name and password when any user connects to the Internet from this computer" and "make him the default Internet connection" check box is checked. Click "Next".
, finally completes the New Connection wizard. Check "Add a shortcut to this connection on my desktop" and click "Finish" to create a broadband connection icon on your desktop.
, the broadband connection icon will be generated on the desktop and in the Network Connection folder.
