Wireless + sensor technology pushes IOT to the cloud
Iot is a very big concept. It emphasizes that everything is connected to IOT and can communicate with each other wirelessly, its fields cover smart cities, smart medical care, smart industry, smart agriculture, and smart buildings. However, for various reasons, the construction of smart cities is still in its infancy, focusing on the development of intelligent transportation systems and power grid systems, in the agricultural, industrial, and construction markets, many enterprises have begun to adopt wireless monitoring, detection, and control technologies, and use specialized sensors and network devices.
Iot is also known as the third wave of the development of the world's information industry after the computer and Internet, and is the expansion of Internet applications. Innovation is the core of Iot development, wireless and sensor technologies play an important role in the IOT era. In view of this, the reporter interviewed senior professional Xu hongyue to explore the wireless + sensor design solution for the IOT era.
Wireless + sensor design solutions accelerate Internet of everything
Xu hongyue, an industry expert, said that he focuses on the consumer-level Iot market, that is, smart lighting and smart home in smart buildings. Smart buildings focus on wireless and automatic control, this is inseparable from sensor and wireless communication technologies. At the same time, cuntian is a well-established supplier of electronic components, wireless modules and sensors, and has abundant Wireless RF and sensor technologies, these two types of products will be the main promotion direction in the consumer Iot field.
Wireless + sensor network connection Solution
In short, it refers to the connection between sensors and wireless networks. In a sensor network, sensors obtain environment-related parameters and then upload them to the network through the wireless module. Software support:
1. Sensor algorithm;
2. Sensor-wireless module data interface;
3. wireless protocol;
4. network control protocols and software (including gateways, routes, and apps ).
Xu hongyue pointed out that sensor networks are widely used. For example, if you are familiar with smart home systems, you can combine door/window magnetic sensors and human body infrared sensors into a home monitoring system. When the host sets the anti-theft/out mode, if the doors and windows are detected to be opened, or when someone passes through the signal, the system will trigger an alarm. On the one hand, the Community's monitoring system is used to notify the security personnel, and on the other hand, the owner is remotely notified through the Internet.
For example, the environmental control system of warehouses, factories, and agricultural greenhouses can be effectively used with temperature and humidity sensors, infrared sensors, ambient light sensors, soil sensors, air conditioners, exhaust fans, and other facilities to automatically adjust the internal environment, real-time feedback of environment parameters to the host is inseparable from the wireless + sensing solution. Xu hongyue said that one of the major features of Iot is interconnectivity, and another feature is perception. Therefore, wireless + sensing can be applied to almost all fields of Iot.
Wireless Technology accelerates Smart Home
At present, many manufacturers have begun to explore smart lighting in the lighting market. Many new office buildings, shopping malls, and airport projects have joined the wireless lighting system. For a commercial building, the energy consumption of the traditional lighting system accounts for more than half of the total energy consumption of the building. Now, the public advocates energy conservation and emission reduction to meet the green building standards, the demand for smart lighting systems in commercial buildings is even more urgent. Xu hongyue said that his village has launched a Zigbee Wireless lighting control solution for commercial lighting. The corresponding products include:
1) The Zigbee module can be connected to LED drive power supplies and sensors, and can be wirelessly dimming or obtaining sensor data;
2) Zigbee splitter, the principle is that the relays controlled by the Zigbee module can output AC/0-10 v dc/PWM three-way dimming signal. Any LED drive product that supports these three kinds of dimming interfaces can be connected to Zigbee dimming devices. Lighting customers do not need to design Wireless RF devices. They only need to connect the corresponding interfaces to the dimming devices, in this way, you do not need to change the design of your existing products, greatly reducing your product development cycle and costs.
3) gateway;
4) software, as part of the network layer.
As a part of the Smart Home System, smart lighting is crucial to the interconnection and Stability of multiple nodes in the network. Xu hongyue said that at present, Zigbee, which can form a Mesh network (Mesh structure), is widely used in smart home systems. If a smart home company wants to develop a complete system instead of a single item, zigbee is generally used for development. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both star networks, which are suitable for single items, such as Wi-Fi/Bluetooth speakers, household appliances, and air cleaning devices.
For the home market, Xu hongyue said that his village can provide Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee modules based on a variety of SoC. For smart home manufacturers, cuntian still focuses on the Zigbee solution. For home appliance manufacturers, cuntian has a dedicated Hostless WiFi (embedded WiFi) Serial Port module for household appliances and built-in MCU. In terms of Bluetooth, traditional Bluetooth is not suitable for smart home or smart lighting systems. Last year, the Bluetooth alliance developed the BLE Mesh protocol. Therefore, cuntian released a bluetooth module supporting BLE Mesh, however, the market is still in the wait-and-see stage.
