A few days ago, the system was re-installed with the Windows7 RC system. Yesterday began to try to put on the Wireshark this very powerful network monitoring software, filled with joy to open, but each open will pop up "the NPF driver not running ..." Error Prompt window. Last night was a night of trouble. Baidu and Google have said to open NPF driver, and then I found the c:\\windows\system32\drivers\ under the Npf.sys file, but how to start this file? I really don't know.
Came to the company, had already intended to give up, did not expect today in the help of colleagues to solve. Write here to share with the brothers who need it:
First, you have to confirm that you have installed the WinPcap (the best download is the latest version: The official download, this will not open the official, can also be downloaded by the Chinese Army), and then
(1) If you are using a Linux, Ubuntu system, use the >$ su Administrator command to switch to the account with the highest privileges, and then enter the command: "net start NPF" (If you do not find a similar command yourself).
(2) If you are using Windows Xp\me, log in with an administrator account, and then open cmd and enter the command: "net start NPF", which prompts you to open the driver service successfully.
(3) If you are using Windows Vista or a Windows 7 trial like me, find the Cmd.exe file under "C:\Windows\System32" and right-click to select "Run as Administrator" Then enter the command "net start NPF" in the command line mode, you can successfully open the NPF driver, should be I found before the Npf.sys file was opened.
Finally, re-open the Wireshark, "bingo" finally can run normally.

Wireshark "The NPF driver isn ' t running ..." (the visible driver is essentially a system service that starts with net start)
