Word 2003 Special Shape cutting strategy

The picture clipping feature provided in Word 2003 is actually very primitive, and it can only crop a picture into a rectangle and not a special shape. Here we recommend two kinds of alternative special shape drawing methods that are not documented in Word Help.

Optional graphic Cutting method

Generally, the AutoShape's fill effect is set to the specified picture, so you can crop the corresponding shape of the picture. However, this cropping can only be cropped in the default position and cannot be adjusted to its own position and size. The author here to introduce the method is more convenient, as long as the mouse to drag the adjustment point can freely adjust the scale and the location of the map.

Step one: Draw the shape of the sanctions chart

Select AutoShapes → lines → freeform shapes on the Drawing toolbar, and click on each vertex to draw the approximate shape of the graph, where you should draw a small angle D, E, F. Then right-click to select the edit vertex and enter the vertex edit state (see Figure 1). The vertex f drag to coincide with D, so that def into a line, in order to accurately align, at this time should be the proportion of the display as large as possible. Then right click on the vertex A, B, C selection is set to "corner vertex", the appropriate adjustment of its two control handles can easily get the desired radian, forming a line with a heart shape (see Figure 2).

Note: This def must remain in the line segment, not on the arc, otherwise can not be used. This also requires that we design the graphic at least to retain a straight line.

Step Two: Drawing

With this graphic selected, click the fill color → fill effect ... on the Drawing toolbar. On the Picture tab, click the Select Picture ... button to open the graphics file you want to crop, and also select the lock picture aspect ratio and rotate fill with shape option (see Figure 3) to ensure that the picture is not distorted by rotation or resizing, Deformation. After the confirmation can see the picture has been cut mean shape.

Step three: Adjust the position and proportion of the plot

Right-click the cropped graph, select edit vertices, drag the vertex e to directly adjust the position and scaling of the plot. Drag the E point to the left to move the plot area to the right and zoom in, drag right to the left and move up or down. However, to adjust the overall size, you have to exit the edit vertex state to see the shape's sizing handle. Here, drag the adjustment after the connection e-df point of the line is a bit dazzling, we can by the graph edge set to "wireless strip color" to eliminate it. The final effect is shown in Figure 4.

Note: If you accidentally drag to a straight segment will become the add vertex operation, you should immediately press the Ctrl+z key to undo.

If you drag the resize position without changing the proportions of the picture at the same time, as long as you set the fill effect, change the picture by clicking the other Texture button on the Texture tab, and the picture will be tiled when you resize it, and keep the original size unchanged. Even when we resize the graphic, it doesn't change, because the texture is not affected by the size of the graphic. Therefore, if you want to resize after cropping, it is best to select the Cut, click edit → paste, select picture (Enhanced metafile) format to paste, and then adjust.
