When you restore or delete a SQL Server 2008 database, the frequently-stewed occurrences are:

"Cannot gain exclusive access to the database because the database is in use",


The following statement is executed when the above error is reported:

Use master

ALTER DATABASE [datebase] SET OFFLINE with ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE

After data recovery, use the following statement


ALTER database [ datebase] Set online
