1. Regularly save files, automatically recover files and hide recent files
In order to prevent sudden power outages, crashes and other documents that are being edited, we can save the WPS document by automatically saving the file on a regular basis. Click tools → options → general and save Select the check boxes for the "Generate backup files on first save" and "scheduled backup, time interval" under Recovery options, and enter the time interval for WPS to automatically protect the document by default of 10 minutes (Figure 1).
Figure 1
After a power outage or a program exception occurs and exits. Restarting the WPS program automatically pops up the Backup Management task pane, which lists all the files that were recovered when the program stopped responding (Figure 2).
Figure 2
The file name, backup time, and other information can be found to recover the appropriate backup files. After the recovery is complete, you can choose to manually delete or delete all the backup files individually.
2. Suppresses display of recently used documents.
WPS lists the most recently used files in the File menu item by default. For privacy reasons, we often don't want people to see the files they've edited recently, select tools → options, click general and save, and then cancel the list recent Files check box under General Options.
3. Learn to protect or hide documents
Select tools → protect document to enter a password to lock the document into read-only mode, and do not allow changes, copying, printing, or saving operations (Figure 3).

4. To the WPS document encryption, strict protection of documents
Select the menu "file" → "file Encryption", you can set "Open file Password", set up after the user needs to view the file through the password. You can set "modify file Password", after setting, the user can edit the file by password (Figure 4).

5. Export the document as an encrypted PDF
Export the document directly to PDF format, then in permission settings, then enter a password and reconfirm in the confirmation box (Figure 5), which can then be exported as a standard encrypted PDF file.

4. Master the practical skills to prevent the password from being cracked
Encrypting the document with file encryption is the most effective and easiest protection, but there is no shield in the world to be stamped on. So when you set a password, you can consider:
(1) long password to allow the difficulty of the crack upgrade
(2) Add space: In the long password in the middle of adding a space, in the default, the space key is ignored, even if selected, use the SPACEBAR because it is not visible characters, is solved after users have to try, this will increase the difficulty;
(3) Use different encryption algorithms: Click the Advanced button when encrypting the document, and then select a different encryption algorithm, while strengthening the length of the key (Figure 6).
