WPS learns to use tab layout

A tab is a symbol that is entered by the [Tab] key on the keyboard. [Tab] Key on the left side of the key, upper and lower case lock key, [~] key, [Q] key left, as shown.

Tabs are typically used to align text vertically in a column without using a table. The position where the tab is aligned is called a tab stop, which is represented by a small black symbol on the ruler of the WPS document.

As you can see from the image above, the left side of the content is long or short, only a tab character, the right side of the content will start from an aligned position, and this position is marked by the tab stop.

The tabs in WPS have three elements: tab stops, alignment, and tab-leading symbols. tab stops are described above, and the Alignment and tab-leading symbols are described below.

tab-Stop Alignment

There are 4 tabs aligned in WPS: left-aligned, right-aligned, center-aligned, and decimal-aligned. The currently selected alignment appears at the top of the line ruler (left), and you can select the alignment by clicking the icon. After you select the alignment, click in the appropriate position in the column ruler (top) to set the tab stop for the specified alignment at that location. You can also use a diagram to illustrate these alignment and how they are set up.

Tip 1: Tab stop markers can be manual. If the position you want to set is exactly where the indent mark is, select the Indent marker without setting the tab stop when you click. At this point you can set the tab stop on the ruler blank and drag the tab stop to where you want to set it.

Tip 2: Because the page has an invisible grid to align, dragging a tab stop marker (or indent marker) always jumps at a certain width. If you want to navigate exactly to a location, you can drag by the [Alt] key.

tab-Stop leading symbol

The most common place for tab-Stop preamble is the directory. In an automatically inserted directory, there is always a dotted line between the title and the page number, which is filled with a tab leader--and, of course, a tab character between the title and the page number.

The tab leading symbols need to be set in the tab Stop dialog box. Opens the Tab Stop dialog box by opening the paragraph dialog and clicking the tab Stop (T) button in the lower-left corner of the paragraph dialog box. You can add tab stops to the current paragraph format in the tab Stop dialog box, where you can add several tab stops, or you can delete tab stops, and you can set their alignment and leader characters for a tab stop. Because it's intuitive to set tab stops directly on the ruler, you usually set tab stops and alignment directly on the ruler, and then open the tab-Stop dialog box if you need to set a leader symbol. When you open the tab Stop dialog box, the tab stops that you set up are listed, and you select the one you want to set the preamble to. As shown in figure:

Tip: Align decimal points in a table

To say a decimal alignment, of course, is a decimal-aligned tab stop. But it's not easy to use tabs in a table--because you can't enter tabs directly in a table. What do you do when you enter a tab in a paragraph that is the TAB key and the table uses the [tab] key to jump to the next cell? Don't forget the Windows clipboard. Enter tabs outside the table, select it, cut (or copy), and position the cursor in the table, paste, and finish.

When you want to see the tabs in action, you can display the tabs by using the show/Hide edit Marks button on the toolbar. The tab character appears as an arrow to the right. If you press the show/Hide edit tag button and then do not display tabs, you need to select tabs on the View page of the document options.

Let's look at the decimal alignment in the table: (Note: Only tabs are displayed to make it easier to see)
