X11VNC enables remote desktop on Ubuntu 14.04 Server
About how to enable remote desktop for x11vnc on Ubuntu 14.04 server version. First, I will give a final result diagram (with several hours and looking for materials everywhere), such as a question, just as a memo. If it can help you by the way, I will be very happy!
Main Purpose: Use the command line to enable the remote server graphical interface, and then use the x11vnc (xfce is used for my server desktop, so x11vnc is used. If you use gnome or kde, vnc4server is required)
Configuration process:
1: Install x11vnc
2: Set the password for x11vnc and for sudo x11vnc-forever-passwd.
3: If you want to manually start x11vnc each time, you don't have to look down.
4: sudo x11vnc-storepasswd in/etc/x11vnc. pass
5: sudo cp ~ /. Vnc/passwd/etc/x11vnc. pass (think you are a non-root administrator)
6: sudo vim/etc/init/x11vnc. conf (if this file is not available, create one)
7: copy the following code to x11vnc. conf (you do not need to manually enable it every time)
Start on login-session-start
Script
X11vnc-display: 0-auth/var/run/lightdm/root/: 0-forever-bg-o/var/log/x11vnc. log-rfbauth/etc/x11vnc. pass-rfbport 5900
End script
8: Success!
