Pre-installation Test preparation
1, hardware
At least two physical machines, one CPU must support Intel VT or AMD-V.
2, Software
XenDesktop5.5 XenServer5.6 or above version of Windows Server 2008 SP2 or R2 version
Second, the test topology diagram
Description: XenServer must be installed on the actual physical machine, otherwise the virtual machine will not start. Ad,xencenter,xendesktop can be installed on a virtual machine. In this experiment, Xencenter,xendesktop is installed in the virtual machine, and Xencente can be installed on the same machine as ad,xendesktop.
Third, Software Installation
1, XenServer, Xencenter installation and configuration
1) XenServer Host system requirements
XenServer host requires 64-bit x86 server;
The CPU must support Intel VT or Amd-v while the virtualization option is turned on in the BIOS;
2G above memory;
At least one NIC;
More detailed system requirements can refer to the XenServer related manuals. (Manual download Address: http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/infocenter/ic-how-to-use.html)
2) XenServer Installation steps
The installation steps are similar to the Linux installation steps, which are briefly described here.
A, download the XenServer software, carved into a CD (or use PXE installation, not described here), reboot the server from the CD drive boot;
B, after displaying the initial boot message, Setup performs the hardware detection and initialization process, and then displays a screen, select the keyboard key mappings that you want to use during the installation process. Default us, then select OK to continue.
C, display Welcome to XenServer (Welcome to XenServer) screen, select OK to continue, display XenServer End User License Agreement (EULA), select Accept EULA;
D. At this point, if the computer that installs the XenServer does not have a CPU that supports hardware virtualization, or if this option is disabled in the BIOS, a message warns that the Windows VM will not run. Select OK (OK) to continue;
E, select "Primary disk" (primary) for the installation. Select the disk you want, then select OK (OK) to continue
Select the installation source, select Local media, select OK (OK) to continue;
F, the screen that appears then asks if you want to install any supplemental packs from the CD. If the plan
If you plan to install a VM running a Linux operating system, or if your hardware provider has provided other
Supplemental Pack, select Yes (yes), we choose No; (Here we only test windows
Desktop, so select the introduction to No,supplemental Pack xensever Cluster test documentation)
G, the next screen will ask if you want to verify the integrity of the installation media, we chose skip verification
(Skip validation);
H, you will then be prompted to set the root password. (This is the Xencenter application that will be used to connect to XenServer
Host password), input two times password, select OK;
I, configure XenServer network settings, configure fixed IP address, subnet mask, Gateway, host name,
DNS server, in this case the setting is: 172.16.100.7/24 172.16.100.1 xenserver-1
172.16.100.6;
J, next set up the urban area, Asia-Chongqing (here only Chongqing, do not know whether or not with the Kuomintang related),
Then choose to use NTP (need to provide NTP server IP address) or manually enter the time, we choose manual
Time entry, then select Install XenServer (install XenServer) to continue, displaying a progress bar Ann
Install the package, 80% will pop up the set Time box, set the correct time, reboot (reboot).
K, after the server boots, XenServer will display the splash screen, and then display the Xsconsole system configuration control
System Taiwan. To access your local shell from Xsconsole, press ALT+F3. To return to Xsconsole, press
ALT+F1, this installation is complete.
3) Xencenter System requirements
Supported operating systems: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, or Windows Vista;
. NET Framework version 2.0 Service Pack 1 or later;
2G above memory;
At least one NIC;
4) Xencenter Installation
XenCenter is very simple, the XenServer installation CD into the CD drive, under the directory Client_install Double-click Xencenter.msi installation can be installed in the Custom Setup (custom installation) page, XenCenter 4.1.0 Displays as XenCenter, and do not select this child feature if there are no XenServer 4.0.1 hosts that need to be managed. The rest can be done by default.
5) through Xencenter configuration XenServer
Here we only describe the simple configuration of the master VM for XenDesktop, detailed management and configuration, see XenServer cluster test documentation (XENSERVER).
A, Start-Program open Xencenter, under the Xencenter root node, right-click, new Pool (pool) container, or directly add a host, we add the host directly (for pool configuration see XenServer Cluster test document) as shown:
B, point Add (Add), in the pop-up box we have previously installed XenServer IP address, root username and password, and then click Add, as shown:
Add success as shown in Figure: (three VMS inside were previously tested, new installation system not)
C, right click on Xenserver-2, click on the new VM (New virtual machine), in the Fresh pop-up box we choose Windows
Xp SP3 (32-bit) as shown:
D, click Next, enter the name and description of the virtual machine; Next, select the installation source we choose to install from ISO or DVD; Next, select the VM, the server, because in this case only one server xenserver-2, the default; Next, select the VM's virtual CPU count and memory size ; Next, select VM Virtual disk size, default is 8G, we can choose properties to change the size of the disk (disk size should be carefully selected, after installation can not adjust the size of the disk) as shown:
E, Next, select the VM virtual network, here does not detail the default; next, see if there is a problem with the VM, confirm that there is no problem, in the Xenserver-2 CD-ROM drive into the XP SP3 CD, click Finish, start installing XP VM.
F, click to complete, under the XENSERVER-1 node will create a new VM, click on the right pane console, using the VM console installation XP,XP installation process omitted, as shown:
G, XP installation is completed, first install a patch, first install Microsoft WinRM, you can download from the Microsoft Official website, and then replace the XP CD into XenDesktop installation CD, run, install Virtual Desktop agent, as shown:
Then choose Quick Deployment, accept the license terms, automate the installation, and restart the VM.
H, after the VM reboot, run the snapshot, prepare the snapshot for the XenDesktop deployment desktop, click the main VM just installed, click on the Snapshots tab on the right pane, click on the Take snapshot, enter the name and description in the pop-up box (preferably with actual meaning, To differentiate between the main VMs on different desktops), as shown in the figure:
2. AD Installation
XenDesktop must have Windows Active directory support, and the installation of ad we will not write it here. This test domain is: xenserver.local.
