I re-compiled and installed xine today, so I recorded the process and hoped to help my friends who want to use Xine.
1. Download the source code and prepare for installation.
Download at least two packages, xine-lib and xine-ui. They can download it from the xine homepage at: http://xinehq.de/index.php/releases
. (Here I would like to say a few more words: With xine-lib, you can have a variety of interfaces to choose from, such as kaffine, gxine, totem, etc. Here I chose xine-ui, because it is the simplest .)
To support more formats, we need win32codec. This package can be a tar package or an rpm package. It doesn't matter. Just click it. I remember that in the past, it seems that this was enough to play in many formats (including rmvb), but today I found that Realplayer was installed in the machine when I sorted out things, therefore, the Real decoder is also compiled during compilation. You can download it from the official website of Real at http://www.real.com/linux /.
2. Install Win32codec and Realplayer
It's easy to decompress the package and install it. The win32codec I used is rpm, and the location of the installed codec is/usr/lib/win32 /. I installed Realplayer a long time ago under/usr/local/programs. (PS: My/usr/local/is a separate partition. Many programs can be used in different systems, such as yongzhong and Minefield, so I created such a nondescribable directory to store such programs that do not depend on the system .)
In this way, the preparation is complete.
3. Compile and install xine-lib
The first of course is to extract the source code: xine-lib-1.1.8.tar.bz2. Decompress the package and go to the source code directory. Execute./configure-help to check the help and see if you have any idea. We have installed win32codec and Realplayer in front. If we want to call them, we need to compile them. Secondly, I don't need xine to play VCD and DVDs, so we need to disable them. Note that the default installation will be installed under/usr/local. In this case, you may need to modify/etc/ld. so. conf later, which is troublesome. In addition, xine does not seem to be easy to use directly after the system is reinstalled. Therefore, we recommend that you install xine directly under/uer/, which is more convenient.
After compilation, you can use make & make install for installation.
After the installation is complete, execute make clean to clean up. In this way, many. o files generated by make can be removed, but the Makefile can be retained to facilitate subsequent uninstallation and cleaning.
