1. Retain the C drive Vista and one-click restoration functions, and install XP on other disks
1. Download two software online:
1). Microsoft. NET 2.0 Framework or later,

2). vistabootpro3.1 or later (preferably version 3.2)
Recommended:

2. Use the XP installation disk to install the XP system to any hard disk partition without data in D/E/F/g.
3. After the installation, you will find that the system directly enters the XP system. In this case, install the windows. NET 2.0 Framework and install vist1_tpro3.2 (the 3.2 and 3.1 interfaces have differences)
4. run as Administrator (move the mouse to the vistabootpro icon, right-click and select), and enter the password. (Of course, if your computer cannot run as an administrator for some reason, you can double-click it to open it ). after the software vistttpro is enabled, the backup prompt is displayed. Click OK.
Go to "BCD registry backup/restore center ". this interface is very important, because the operations we will finish later will rewrite the menu at system startup. At last, we should save the settings here, which will be useful for restoring the dual systems in the future.
** The above BCD backup path allows you to choose an address for saving BCD data. Click "Browse" on the right and select a non-system hard disk partition to save the file. You can write the file name as needed .**
Remember this location, because the following item will be used to reinstall the system in the future.
BCD restore path (recovery path)
Click Open, find the file saved above, and double-click it to complete BCD data recovery. The dual-system selection menu is automatically completed at startup.
5. Note that there is a rectangular menu under the top menu of file tools diagonstics help,
Just now we are working on the fourth project "backup/restore center ". the first is viewsettings. Click viewsettings to view the startup information of all operating systems. let's see how many of them are there. if only XP exists, click the second "manage OS entries", and click "Add new OS entry" at the bottom. write the OS name to Vista, type: Vista, and OS drive to select the partition actually installed in Vista. click the latest apply updates. an error may be prompted, so you don't have to worry about it. all the pop-up record windows are closed. then, you can change the operating system name under this menu, for example, change "Early Windows operating system" to XP (Note: Chinese characters are not supported here ). if set as default is selected, the default Operating System is selected at startup. in current Boot timeout, you can adjust the waiting time before the operating system automatically enters. you can also modify the following two items in the Vista operating system. do not forget to click 'apply Update"
6. the penultimate menu is systembootloader, which is the most critical step. You can select Windows Vista Bootloader and system partition. Click "install bootloader" at the most. You can see the dual-System Menu after restart.
(If the problem persists, you can add the following steps in other forums:
"Go to the C-drive root directory, open the folder option to view, remove the hidden and protected operating system files, and select show hidden files and folders.
Now you can see the ntldr file. Open the attributes of the ntldr file and remove its Read-Only attributes. ")
Note: vistabootpro3.1 usage can refer to the http://bbs.123z.cn/viewthread.php? Tid = 12318 graph available
7. Go back to XP and re-open vistabootpro. In Step 4, reload the intermediate part of **... ** and then use BCD restore path to reinstall the dual system.
8. Install the driver Program For Lenovo, please download it from the official website;

Http://download.lenovo.com.cn/new/Downloads/Channel/Default.asp (driver download page) after entering the host number, download all XP drivers. then install it manually. the method is to download a compressed file in each folder (Lenovo downloads a compressed file, first decompress it into each folder and double-click setup.exe. If the prompt is "restart", select "no". After all the installation is complete, restart the file.

9 install some software such as easycapture and powergo installed on the software package.

Method 2: install XP first and then install Vista
1. Use the XP installation disk to install XP to the C disk. If the C disk has already been installed with XP, it will not be used.
2. go to XP, put the Vista installation disk into the optical drive, open the directory of the optical drive, select setup.exe, and double-click it to start the installation. first, you will be prompted to enter the key. find at the bottom of the notebook. if you are using a pirated CD or you know where the key is, pull it.
Then, follow the prompts to re-install (do not select upgrade and installation) any partition other than drive C (NTFs format is required. you can format the partition in NTFS format in XP management.
Note: We just used the same hardware installation method as installing common software. do not try to install Vista in DOS, win PE, or CD boot system, because after the installation is complete, Vista will automatically change the drive letter to drive C, this is inconsistent with the drive letter of the XP system .)
3. During the installation process, the computer will be automatically restarted several times. After the installation is completed, the dual-System menu will automatically appear on the startup screen.
4. Install the driver after installation;
After Vista is manually attached to a partition of a non-C disk, there are four question marks on the Device Manager. you can store the first three random drive discs in the optical drive and search for the disks where the optical drive is located. vista has a significant improvement over XP, that is, it allows you to select the drive letter of the file when searching for the driver file, and then add the subfolders. this means that it is as convenient to put your driver files on a CD or hard disk.
An unknown device is left. after exploration, and install XP, the power management software should be installed. however, f50pm is selected as the driver folder when XP is installed. vista selects the engergycut folder and opens the point setup. After installation, there will be no question marks.
However, there are several steps to do this:
A. although Vista is installed with sound and video functions, you still need to manually Install 2. the setup file in the audio folder. after restarting, you can see that there is a red speaker in the taskbar. it can manage speakers, mic, sound mixing, and sound effects. note: After the sound card driver is installed, you cannot use sound mixing while singing in the chat room. in XP, yes. this is a common problem for many new laptops that have purchased RealTek HD sound cards. Many people complain online. lenovo and Asus technical departments will tell you that this problem is purely a hardware problem that cannot be solved by upgrading the driver or third-party software. I upgraded the latest RealTek HD Vista Driver (around April 26), which is useless. if you must use audio mixing in Vista, only one driver can be used together, realTek HD driver version 1.42-this discovery took me almost 10 hours to try.
B. Install the easy capture in the software package and restart the camera.
I have reinstalled the easybutton driver.
This is successful.
However, every time XP is reinstalled in the future, it may cause the loss of winload.exe when vista.exe fails to start. therefore, you should install vistabootpro in XP as described in "1" above. except for how you can use command bcdedit.exe to modify the startup information. this is just what I learned this morning. I will discuss it in detail later. I will first add a skill:
How to release hidden partitions with one click:
Only applicable to the popular EISA hidden partitions, that is, you can right-click "my computer" in XP or Vista and choose "manage" and choose "disk management". A partition without a drive letter is displayed, the attribute is Eisa, neither fat nor NTFS. of course, its essence is the hidden fat format partition. if you already have many files on your computer, do not delete them. because the following technologies require a certain degree of computer skills (of course, I learned this for the first time .)
1) after starting the XP installation disk, delete the partition directly on the installation page. select the last partition (the one with no drive letter, the size is the same as that seen in disk management), and press d.
2) After the disk is restarted, go to disk management and the EISA partition disappears. An extra black "unallocated" area of 11.91g is found in the following disk graphic table. note that if a new partition is directly created for this unallocated partition, it is not a logical partition but a primary partition. so it will cause a lot of trouble. find a Norton partiion magic partition software, first delete it, merge it with other partitions, and then re-partition.

Iii. XP-Vista or Vista-XP dual-system backup method:
First, let's take a look at the online citation.
"Windows Vista introduces the concepts of Boot manager and BCD.
Post (system self-check)-> BIOS read MBr-> Find the active partition in the hard disk partition table-> Read Boot Sector-> load bootmgr (Boot manager ). boot manager reads BCD information and lists the boot menu
-If Windows Vista is selected, bootmgrwill assign the control permission to winload.exe, start the system, and start core loading.
-If XP/2000/2003 is selected, bootmgr gives control to ntldr and starts normal Windows loading ."

After the Vista-XP or XP-Vista dual system is installed, the backup system can quickly restore the system in case of a major fault, and avoid the cumbersome re-installation of XP, Vista and drivers, there are some subsequent software settings.
Norton Ghost is the most common system backup software. I used to back up my 98-xp dual-system. Every time I recovered to a C-disk I backed up in over 10 minutes.
Common Problems of Windows XP and Vista backup.
1. in a vista-XP system with one-click restoration, the format or space of the drive C cannot be changed. otherwise, one-click restoration will fail, prompting that winload.exe is lost or the drive C has changed. that is, the gho file backed up by ghost cannot be restored successfully.
2. even if the disk where Vista is located has not changed its format or size, some ghost8.3 or later versions of ghost backup Vista can be restored directly. however, after restoration, more people cannot start. The prompt is winload.exe. someone on the Internet provides a remedy:
"You can run the following command with the Administrator permission in the Vista system before making the ghost file:
Bcdedit/set {bootmgr} device boot
Bcdedit/set {default} device boot
Bcdedit/set {default} osdevice boot
Then the system ghost will be created so that there will be no errors in the ghost file,
You can use the following methods to recover a system that cannot be started after it has been restored using GHOST:
Start with a Windows PE disc, run CD c: \ windows \ system32 on the command line, and then run the preceding three lines to restart the system. "
From http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php? F = 174 & t = 289137
However, this method seems to have been set up for earlier versions of the official version of Vista. I have tried it. The first two commands are valid, and the third one cannot be executed.
3. I thought this problem was due to the first installation of Vista and then the installation of XP, so I changed the system to the XP-Vista system. XP is installed on drive C and Vista is installed on drive G. in this way, the menu does not need to be designed. in addition, XP can directly use ghost8.3 for backup, which can be completely restored. in Vista, I found the latest Norton Ghost V12 version. The backup mode is different from that in 8.3, and it is more powerful and supports installation in Vista. I tried to recover the G drive and restart it. The dual system boot system is still in progress. vista is normal. the Windows XP system was faulty last night, so the C disk was restored with ghost8.3 and restarted. The Vista failed to enter, prompting that winload.exe was lost. depressing. the last night, I realized that the winload.exefile was lost. The actual winload.exe file was lost, mainly because the boot system before entering the system was damaged. after you use the ghost backup file to restore the C drive, it is not equivalent to installing Is XP installed again after Vista? The method of course is to use vistabootpro to set Luo in Vista, so I refused to reinstall Vista and directly installed vistabootpro in xp. As mentioned above, I restarted and successfully realized:
The most convenient way to back up Vista and XP systems is to install vistabootpro in XP before the backup. After each recovery, if you encounter any problems, just reset vistabootpro. ghost V12 is recommended for the software used for backup (unfortunately, only the English version is available now. In addition, you need to download a ghost recovery disk image file from the Internet and cut it into a CD, when neither XP nor Vista is in progress, it is used to start the computer to recover the system. because ghost V12 does not support the DOS environment .)
