1. Remove irrelevant options

In Windows XP, double-click "Folder Options" in "Control Panel", click the "View" tab, and scroll the mouse pointer to the bottom of the window, you can see that there is an "automatically search for network folders and printers" item, which is selected by default and removed. In this way, when printing, Windows XP does not advocate to find a printer on the LAN and install drivers, to prevent accidental access to confidential documents to printers in other departments, but it still cannot be found. At the same time, after this item is removed, when we access the LAN computer through "Network neighbors", it will not automatically find the shared folder on it, which will increase the speed.

2. Adjust the NIC to full speed

Press the win + pause/Break Key, click the "hardware" tab, and then click "Device Manager" to open "Device Manager", and double-click the corresponding Nic under "network adapter, in the displayed window, click the "advanced" tab, select link speed/duplex mode (connection speed/duplex mode), and then select 100 full mode. in this way, the network card can be adjusted to full speed. Of course, if you are using a wireless network, you can adjust it to the highest speed, for example, Huawei software station small make up my wireless network adapter D-link airplus xtremeg + DWL-G650 + wireless carw.adapter #2, the author set its desired basic rate set (basic rate) to up to 54mbps.

3. Remove irrelevant protocols

Open the "Network Connection" window, right-click "Local Connection", select "properties", and remove unnecessary protocols from the window. If you use Windows 98, you can remove "TCP/IP-dial-up adapter", "Microsoft friendly Logon", "Microsoft Virtual Private Network Adapter", and "IPX/SPX compatible protocol, these components are rarely used at ordinary times. If you select them, the normal internet access and browsing of the workstation will be affected.

4. Set an empty password to log on

If the computer does not store sensitive data, but only some public resources, you can set a blank password to log on. In this way, the user can directly access without providing a password, saving the time to tell others the password and making it easier.

Press win + R and enter gpedit. MSC, open the "Group Policy Editor", and find "Computer Configuration"> "Windows Settings"> "Security Settings"> "Local Policies"> "Security Options ", double-click "Account: A local account with a blank password can only log on to the console" in the right window, and set it to "disabled" in the window that opens ".

Next, open "Resource Manager" on this machine, select "Tools"> "Folder Options", click the "View" tab, and then cancel "Remove simple file sharing (recommended).

5. Automatically log on to the LAN

If you need to access a shared folder every day, you do not need to double-click "Network Neighbor" step by step, find the server, double-click it, and enter the user name and password to access it. For example, you want to access a computer named server. The user name and password are 8888. write a BAT file and enter the following statement: net use serveripc $ "8888"/User: "user ", drag and Drop the bat file to the "Start> program> Start" group. When the BAT file is started, the system logs on to the server with the user name and 8888 password as the user name, in this way, you no longer need to enter the user name and password to access the shared folder on it.

If you are using Windows XP, you can enter the user name and password when you first open the shared computer, and then select "remember my password, we will not ask for a password for the next visit.

6. Cancel the Firewall

If you have enabled the firewall in Windows XP and shared the drive, someone else may not be able to browse the shared drive in "Network Neighbor". Then you can right-click "Local Connection ", select "properties", click the "advanced" tab, and click the "configuration" button. In the displayed window, select "close (not recommended. Because our LAN computer is connected to the router itself, you can consider setting a firewall on it. In this way, machines in the LAN will not be attacked by the outside world, but machines in the LAN will access it faster.

7. Fast mutual access between multiple systems

If you find that Windows 2000 is particularly slow to access 98 machines, you can press win + R on host 2000 and enter "regedt32". In the Registry Editor, find [hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrent versionpolicerremotecomputernamespace] find and delete the key under the Branch, and then double-click the machine of 98 colleagues.

8. Fast data backup/update

If you often need to back up data to a file server in the LAN, do you want to select a file on the local hard disk and then switch to the file server and paste it? This is too troublesome. In fact, the system will teach you a good way. We only need to know the name of the file server (such as file_bck) and its username (such as user) and password (such as 123456 ), now we only need to run a batch file. The content of this batch file is as follows:

Set Source = D: Work

Set DEST = file_bckbackup

Net use file_bckipc $ "1234"/User: "user"

Xcopy % source % DEST %/e/V/R/y/z

Save it as batchcopy. bat. If you double-click this bat file, all files of D: Work will be backed up to file_bckbackup.

9. Fast ing Disc

Open the root folder of the shared machine, such as homepc, select the corresponding folder, right-click, and select the ing network drive command to map the folder to a drive letter immediately. If you select "tool> ing network drive", You need to select the ing path.

10. Cancel unused network drives

If you have mapped a network drive and will not use it any more, open "Resource Manager" and click "Tools"> "Disconnect network drive, then, cancel the drive in the window shown in 13. Otherwise, the disk will be automatically mapped every time it is started, and it will also occupy a large amount of system resources, thus slowing down access to the LAN.

11. quick access to shared folders

If you often want to access a user's shared folder, such as homepcwritingsoft, you can open homepcwritingsoft in "Resource Manager" and drag the folder icon in the address bar to the desktop, when the cursor changes to a link. To access this folder, you just need to double-click the shortcut on the desktop without entering the folder layer by layer from "Network neighbors.

12. Enter the computer name directly.

In the address bar of resource manager, enter the computer where the shared folder you want to connect to is located or the network path of the shared folder for quick access. If you enter comp (in which comp is the computer name), you can enter the computer named comp to view its shared folders or files. Enter compshare to enter the share folder of the comp computer.

13. Direct IP Access

If you fix the IP address of the NIC of a shared computer, you can directly enter the IP address of the computer in the "run" window to access the computer without opening it layer by layer from "Network neighbors.

14. Quick access under total commander

Open a shared folder in total commander and double-click its pane. In the displayed window, select "add current folder" to add it to the folder list. If you want to access the service in the future, you only need to double-click the pane and select the corresponding project.
15. Dynamic/static IP addresses

If DHCP is used in the company and a fixed IP address is used at home, it is a headache to modify the IP address of the NIC repeatedly. If you install Windows XP, you can enable both dynamic and static IP addresses for the NIC: double-click the "Network Connection" icon in "Control Panel", and right-click the corresponding Nic, for example, "wireless network connection", select the "properties" command, select the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" option in the window that appears, and click the "properties" button below. In the displayed window, select "automatically obtain IP Address" and "automatically obtain DNS server address. Click the "Backup configuration" tab, select the "user configuration" item in the window, and enter the fixed IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and preferred DNS server address, for example, 192.168.0.188, 255.255.255.0, and 192.168.0 .. In this way, when DHCP exists on our computer, the IP address is obtained from the DHCP server. Otherwise, we will use the fixed IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and preferred DNS server address. The above is 192.168.0.188, which is very convenient.

16. Cancel cache settings

Right-click a folder on your computer and select "share and Security". Then, click "cache" at the bottom of the window, in the displayed window, cancel the "allow files to be cached in this shared folder" item. In this way, when there are too many files in our shared folder, the acceleration will be obvious when others access this shared folder. If this is not set, files in this folder may not be opened for a long time, and the system may crash.

17. You can consider Gigabit NICs and 64-bit computers.

A Gigabit Nic, a 64-bit computer, and a 64-bit Windows server have been installed. According to tests by authoritative authorities, its LAN access speed has been significantly improved.

18. Place the Wireless AP/router in the middle of the room

The Wireless AP/router is the center of the wireless network. Therefore, you must place the wireless router in the middle of the room to ensure that all the network cards in the house can be better connected to it. Many people connect the Wireless AP/router to the living room because the residential broadband only connects to the door. In this way, your wireless signal will suffer a lot, and the natural network speed cannot be increased.

19. Enable the wireless 54mbps Mode

Some Wireless AP/Router does not enable its G mode to be "compatible" with more NICs. In this case, you need to log on to the AP/router, set "wireless mode" to G mode (G mode), set "transmission (TX) rate" to 54 Mbps, and activate 8x mode, and set "antenna transmission power" to the highest.

We 'd better not use Windows XP Wireless Management, but install the program that comes with the NIC. In this way, more options will be displayed, showing the settings of the program that comes with the NIC, the corresponding 8x mode is available, and the mode can be forced to 54mbps. These features are not available in Windows XP using a wireless management driver.

Note that, after the value is set to 54mbps, the Wireless AP/router may not be connected to some wireless networks in the PCMCIA slot, in this case, only the AP/router is changed back to the mixed mode ).

20. Change the channel

In the Wireless AP/router, we can change the channel. For 802.11g, 11 channels are available, but only 1, 5, and 11 channels are available, that is to say, using more than three 802.11g wireless networks in the same region will interfere with each other, and overlapping channels will reduce the data link rate. Therefore, no matter whether our neighbors have installed the 802.11g wireless network or change it to one of the above three channels, it may also help speed and stability of the network.

21. Hybrid wireless/Wired connection

Generally, the purchased Wireless AP/router has four interfaces of a wired network cable. You can connect a machine with a large volume of data to the wired interface of a Wireless AP/router through the wired network card and network cable, remember the IP addresses of the wired network. In this way, when you press win + R on the machine that uses the wireless network card in another room and enter the IP address of the wired network card to access the computer, the speed will be much faster! The transmission speed between the wireless network card and the wired network card is very slow!
